... wait are people against the superior spiderman run, because I thought it was great. You thought a story where they turned Doctor Octopus into a pervert and a creep that invaded Peter’s memories so he could jerk off to Mary Jane/use Peter’s body to constantly lie to and try to have sex with her was great? Yep

This is all just Marvel doing more of what they’ve been doing for a long time in trying to damage Mary Jane as a character and coming up with ways to make her unsuitable to be with Peter. I wish they’d just stop and leave her alone. Either put her with Peter or write her out of the book for good.
They could retcon this current mess at any time, but it often takes Marvel forever to retcon bad ideas and I’m too old at this point to wait for them to do it.

Count me as another who liked Superior Spider-Man. Loved when he finally admits Peter is the better Spider-Man and allows him to take over again. It's kinda a shame any development in his character kinda went when they brought him back, and then completely went when they gave him his original body

Would like to know why they hate Mary Jane. It's irrational the contempt they have for her

Would like to know why they hate Mary Jane. It's irrational the contempt they have for her A great deal of the people running the company grew up in the 70s when Gwen was the love interest, the current EIC CB Cebulski even went on stage at D23 this weekend to proclaim Gwen was Peter's 'eternal love' and that her tragedy does more to define him because of 'love's unfulfilled promise'. The problem Marvel have with MJ is that she was a character that was never supposed to have succeeded, she was created to be a foil to Gwen, only she worked too well and overshadowed her. MJ rarely judged Peter harshly and was always encouraging him to chill out and party, flirting with him and occasionally Spider-Man while all Gwen did was nag Peter and blame Spider-Man for all the misery that happened to her father. After Gwen's death, Gerry Conway pushed for Peter and MJ, you didn't see Marvel's contempt for her become apparent until after he left, Marv Wolfman broke them off just as Peter proposed, then exiled her from the book for years. Nobody at Marvel touched her until Roger Stern, who began introducing a lot of the modern elements that would make her more compelling, and then Tom DeFalco revealed she always knew Peter's identity, from there she became the confidant and support system while Peter went through all the girl trouble with Felicia Hardy, Peter and MJ's relationship blossomed organically and entirely by chance. And then Stan, who had fleshed out Peter and MJ for a considerable longer tenure in the newspapers, decided to marry them off, which caught Marvel off guard, and they decided for maximum profit and publicity to coincide the marriage in the strip with one in the comics. The narrative from Marvel staff past and present is that there was no organic build to the marriage in the main books, but fans embraced it and sales went well. Marvel staffers, some of whom have been here for donkey's decades, believe Peter was always at his best single, to them, MJ is Charlie Brown kicking Lucy's football. They are hot at her because to them she represents the end of the story, she's the reason they were forced to do something they've rarely ever done and that is to rewrite Marvel history to undo the marriage and to seemingly shamelessly carry on as if nobody noticed...but I think it's really gotten to them over the years, not just the fact they had to reset, but the fans still demand the marriage be reinstated. It's caused them to 'retreat' and 'cave' many times, to keeping the marriage active in alternate continuities, to eventually reuniting Peter and MJ in the 'proper' comics and tease OMD walk-backs to boost the sales after the disaster of Slott's later years post-Superior. What has become increasingly apparent with how badly they've botched the 60th anniversary, is that they know they have ran out of ideas and are stuck with her and Peter's popularity. 17 years have passed and it hasn't gone away, and they're now resigned to let the debates not only rage on, but to also encourage it by continuing to publish material with them married (November's upcoming mini-series The Lost Hunt features a married Peter and MJ during the Clone Saga when they were expecting Baby May). Mary Jane will always be Peter's endgame, she is the mother of his children across several universes, it's too late to try and surgically remove her from Peter's life or the lore. Yet still they persist in attempts to do so, but either way, they know they make money off positives and negatives with her character, and so their hands are tied.

It's a good thing as a collected edition of an older story that nobody feels compelled to buy it if they don't want to. My mind doesn't immediately go to Quesada for a Spider-Man gallery edition book, you'd think Romitas Sr. and Jr., Zeck, Larsen, or Bagley would come first, but it is what it is. Speaking of collected editions, two books, The Good Asian and The Scumbag, from Image are getting deluxe hardcovers next year. I'm in for The Good Asian, glad I held off on getting the TPBs. www.comicbookwire.com/the-good-asian-and-the-scumbag-are-getting-deluxe-editions/For no reason, one of my favourite Alex Ross covers from the current Iron Man run, which I hope gets collected as an omnibus once Cantwell leaves the books. This cover gives off some Green Lantern (Vol. 3) #49 vibes. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}

If the marriage gallery book ever comes out. It was originally scheduled to be out in September and has since been delayed several times to November.

Taylor's Nightwing really does feel like Taylor would love to be writing Peter and MJ right now. His Dick and Babs are basically this, and in this issue is similar to the famous story "To Have and to Hold", with the two committing to their partnership for life (no proposal or anything just yet, but at this point there's bound to be a wedding), Dick's identity was even known by his enemies at this point, but that gets soon resolved at the issue's climax.

Read Gender Queer: A Memoir since it’s banned books week and I’ve heard that title a lot in articles about asswipes being upset about books
It’s a lovely, personal read. If I were a teenager struggling with my gender identity I feel like it would be so impactful.

So week or so ago got in the above comic. As a kid I loved Super Goof.But had never seen any Dynabrite issues from Whitman. As you can see the cover price for Dynabrite issues was 69 cents. This issue came out in 73 and average comic back then was 25 cents IIRC. Now What I am surprised is besides a one time appearance on the House of Mouse cartoon in 2006 or so Super Goof hasn't appeared since the comic ended in 80 or 81. So what is Dynabritea and why did it almost triple the price of a comic? Well from what I can tell was Dynabrite was Whitman's attempt to use better paper,the interiors appear to be on mando or Baxter paper.SO super white pages and the colors really pop. There on the back cover is all 9 Dynabrite issues listed. Tempted to track down the 2 Uncle Scrooge issues,Gyro,both Donald ducks and that Daisy and Donald issue. Maybe we will get lucky and in the next Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy movie Super Goof will join the team.

The dialogue in X-Terminators #1 sounds like a 18-21 year old party girl wrote it.
