It appears John Byrne has lost interest and motivation in continuing his X-Men webcomic 'Elsewhen'. He didn't plan on finishing it ahead of this retirement, so it's ending on a very inconclusive note as a result. The final page posted in August ended with Wolverine facing down three Doctor Dooms, and no, they were not doom bots for once
Byrne's running commentary on the final pages was that Doom was going to use Nightcrawler's powers to summon forth variants of himself from the multiverse so he could storm Mephisto's domain and retrieve Doom's mother

When has Nightcrawler's bamf allowed him to cross the multiverse? I know in X-Men Evolution it turned out when he teleported he moved through a demon dimension before reappearing. I want to say the same thing happens in the comics but honestly I'm to lazy to check

A little more on the overall mystery of ASM in today's issue also
Peter reveals he lost a loved one and tried to bring them back with Norman's help, everyone he talked to didn't agree with what he wanted to do, and ultimately what Norman did for him didn't work.
Lowe in the letters page also makes reference to Kindred and tells readers to expect more of Mysterio and MJ

Also, they better not do anything gross between Mysterio and Mary Jane.

The 'real' Gwen the Celestial allows Peter to interact with doesn't remember any of this.

I'm so sick of Gwen f***ing Stacy.
She is the absolute epitome of the insane desire to lock Peter Parker forever in the guise of an adolescent loser despite him pushing 30.

Based on the first issue, Sgt. Rock vs. The Army of the Dead is going to be wild.

Read a few rumours on 4chan about Slott's new book {Spoiler}Anya, Spidey UK, and Julia are hiding out on the newspaper strip Earth, this will be revealed in issue two, and it will serve as the heroic Spiders base of operations for the story. Newspaper Spidey speculated to join up with them in the fourth issue in January.
The big 'surprise' death of the issue is of Mary Jane's boyfriend Paul

Not at all interested in current day Spider-Man, but what I'm seeing posted here makes me think this is Slott just writing whatever he wants and other creatives like Zeb Wells be damned. Which is how it came across when Slott retconned Franklin Richards' mutant status when Hickman was still setting up the HoX/PoX deal with the X-Men titles.

Marvel released a Mephisto article (October is apparently devoted entirely to the character), which cleared up a few things about Spencer's run.
The official stance from Marvel is that OMD is over. Peter's victory over Kindred freed his soul from Mephisto and he and MJ's daughter will eventually defeat him. This is pretty interesting considering where Peter and MJ are at presently, perhaps this brings greater context to what Wells was setting up, that maybe Peter now remembers he had a marriage and an unborn child that he enlists Norman in trying to regain.
Also explains why Marvel are publishing new marriage material in November set back in the clone saga when MJ was pregnant, that history is somehow intact again.

Didn’t see this posted yet but very bad news this week that the Carlos Pacheco is unfortunately retiring due to being diagnosed with ALS. Always loved his stuff, sad to lose another tremendous artist.

Maybe somebody here can help me out on this.
I've been reading the 1987 Captain Atom series from DC lately, and it's gotten me curious about Major Force's timeline. I've tried looking this up in other sources, but can't find it anywhere. His DC Database Wiki entry in general is filled with a lot of gaps.
So in issue #46 Major Force goes into space to travel with an alien "freedom fighter" named Kylstar, who the ending reveals might not be as altruistic as original seeming. This was in 1990. I can't find anything on him again until he shows up in Green Lantern in 1994 to kill Kyle Rayner's girlfriend. Does anybody know what happened to him during that time period? With Kylstar? How he got back to Earth? I don't know why but for some reason this just has me really curious.

Carlos was always a highlight no matter what book he was on, I really loved his time on X-Men in the late 90s But I really think he did his best work when paired with Kurt Busiek

Update: The leak was false, but there are legit leaks coming out of an advance review from Youtube: {Spoiler}No Paul death, but Shathra has managed to convert Annie, Noir, Ghost Spider, Spider-Punk, and....Mayday Parker into wasp minions, and they have the power to severe the spiders connections to the web of life, so I guess the point of this whole story is to 'normalise' the spiders in the multiverse by the end of it and remove the mysticism
