Going over some of the canon changes in Marvel on Reddit, topped with this current event we’ve had: - Spiderman sell the DEVIL his marriage to save Aunt May - That same devil literally took over Las Vegas, Nevada - Daredevil snapped multiple times taking over the Hand, and basically pulling a Rorsach in prison - Punisher’s been killed, resurrected as. Frankenstein monster, reverted back to human form, SNAPS ad goes all Daredevil taking over the hand, and is now replace by some punk that falls right in line with the cops using that kind of symbol archetype - Over MOVIE BS, Wanda/Pietro were removed as mutants, only for Marvel to get the rights back in the end anyhow - The absolute assassination of the Inhuman race/group, by trying to make them the REPLACEMENTS for mutants - Mutants took the island that once tried to killed them, and turned it into an island where they had their collective “Hoe Phase”, and also mastered unlimited rez/cloning - Evil Captain America. - Blade somehow got possessed by an ancient underwater vampire, and now leads all of them, while Dracula is forced to work with the good guys - Miles and Peter somehow have beef now??
… Especially in the face of constant reboots/lack of legacy building, WHAT IN THE SHIT IS GOING ON AT MARVEL!?!! And I’m not even touching the symbiote and magic f***ery

When the stories never have an ending this happens.
Which is why more and more the comics I read are ones where I know it has an ending.

I remember those Marvel "End" books from the 2000s, most of them weren't particularly great but they dedicated a whole slew of them to a massive trilogy that wrapped up Chris Claremont's X-Men, and I don't think it's remembered much at all.

Shit, I think the ONLY thing they’ve taken from that series is Hulk outlives everyone.

What is DC’s obsession with killing their true #1 popular hero?? It’s ALWAYS stop dicks heart, or try to sacrifice here. Always some bs with Young Rich.

Ok I really don't keep up with DC at all anymore. But is Nightwing #1? Like really? I know he has a dedicated fanbase,I was one of them back itn the NTT days in the 80s.
Dick is oddd for me. Working with Bruce or a team like the Titans I enjoy him. But what I have read of his various solo series was stuff that wasn't bad. Jusst nothing I would pay 3 bucks an issue for.

He's currently riding high on a critically acclaimed run by Tom Taylor. He probably isn't DC's most popular hero to the world at large but he's getting a lot of attention from comic fans, to be sure.

Well obviously not above the trinity, but he’s the only character we’ve truly seen from day one grow into a KEY member within the multiverse so I feel a personal attachment to him in that regard above his predecessors. This dude MADE the Justice League (as Batman obvs). He’s HIM nowadays, and also my strongest argument as to why comics as a whole should have done more to invest in legacy characters.

Feels like with Flash and Green Lantern DC has that legacy feel. Think the last Nightwing I read was a Nightwing Year One TPB. Was good.
