Even that's not totally fair, since this move is pretty clearly "Buy TNA outright, rebrand it and make its new history (trying to take the TNA stigma away from it)- then as your first order of business, sell the tape library to WWE and use that money to pay off as much outstanding debt as possible to start basically fresh" (which is...well, SMART.) Since even the most doom and gloom people were saying TNA was about $2 million in debt and WWE's apparent first offer was $1.35 million for the library, it's not unlikely Corgan could have counter-priced WWE with "give us $2 million (or the exact number) to wipe out all our debts so I can start fresh"- and from all we've seen of Vince McMahon in the past, he would gladly agree to that price increase for the competition. This is also presuming Corgan bought Majority first, because I wouldn't put it past Dixie to sell the library, keep that money, THEN sell majority. Also, without further details, Dixie only sold the Majority, so she could very well still be a big part of Corgan's rebranded TNA. I guess I'm just highly skeptical of the intelligence of this deal, like...it looks fine on the surface, but nagging suspicions towards those involved, etc... It's also possible that Billy bought out Dixie's stake in the company because Aerolux has an ownership stake in TNA.

I would love to be in the room when the production staff gets their first viewing of what two million dollars bought them.

Possible, but dude who first broke this is framing the deals as Dixie selling the library first then her majority to Corgan. Again, we just don't know enough yet.

Apparently Billy is loved by the wrestlers (paying them tends to do.that though) so him basicaly starting a new company off the tna contracts could be interesting. Who knows who he could bring back with the promise of no Dixie? So basically what GFW was supposed to be. Inconcievable. You CAN'T have a wrestling promotion without selling fake gold bars.

So basically WWE buys the library (and presumably the name), while Corgan gets to rebuild with the rest. And Ditzy gets the corner office, largely to be ignored. Sounds like a win-win for all. Just hope Billy doesn't steal Dixies red Stapler.

So, he's literally selling off the company's history and starting 100% fresh but with the same roster of guys?
...TBH, that's about the best way to handle it. TNA is a tainted brand. Might as well scorch the earth and try again.
Although, based on what I've seen of Corgan's booking, I'm not particularly thrilled by the idea of what his company will bring.

We'll get more of the same, since Corgan loves him some Russoesque bullshit.

Agreed with Magic.
What Corgan is doing is saying f*** it with TNA and Impact Wrestling. He's taking the roster, the staff, the equipment, the TV deals and now he can have his own wrestling promotion with a base to start with.
What WWE is doing is having hours upon hours of digitized, ready to go AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Jeff Hardy (amongst others) matches to add to the Network. They will also probably make X-Division DVDs. ALSO, they're financing the continuation of one of the entities they can point to and say "See? We're not a monopoly!"

They still haven't done the tour of India they owe SonySix. So either TNA finds yet another dupe or bank to float them another loan, or SonySix can just rip up the contract if they so feel like it. It's clear Ditzy's ego won't let her go of the thing. Just as well, no one in their right minds would want the thing given the shape it's in. Gimme 100,000 for one year and I'll take that challenge.

EDIT: Not that I mean to sound cynical, I love the idea of rock 'n roll weirdo Billy Corgan giving WWE a run for their money in ten years.

FAN staff, start working on a new TNA eulogy board description. We might be needing it soon.
