If you're bringing back the majority of the original cast, then...why even do this?
You're making the exact same movie, but with better "animation."

I'm not sure they should bring James Earl back. He's getting up there in age, and based on his Rogue One cameo his voice doesn't exactly have the impact it used too.

I think it should be set in an exotic, yet familiar location, like Denmark...round about 500 years ago. And he should call it something dramatic, but obscure...like, I don't know, Hamlet. But then at one point, the plot should transition to England for Simba's exile. I think it'd more fully realise the story of the young prince living a no-worries life, partying all the time with his corpulent friend Falst- I mean, Puumba, before being reminded of the value of kingship. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Brows Held High was the thing that pointed this out, and I think I enjoy The Lion King more because it melds the two Shakespearian themes so well. You now make me wish Prince Harry was cast as Simba. Art imitating life and that sort of thing.
