The nicest thing you can say about this game is that it's between two teams in the AFC South.

I'm at this game, and I have an ex in Cleveland, so due to Indy indirectly losing them the Browns for a few years, go Jags!

Something I just thought about How many of these London games have the Jags been in? They book their own because of the support they got their first year hosting. During an as break they actually had the announcer refer to them as "London's home team"

Can anyone give a reasonable explanation as to why Andrew Luck hasn't gotten better? When he broke into the league in 2012 and led the Colts to the playoffs in his first three seasons, he appeared to be the next great quarterback, the next generation who would take the torch from the likes of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers before him. But he seems to have plateaued since then. Is it injury-related? Is it the horrendous sieve of an offensive line? Is it the fact that his best receiver is T.Y. Hilton who, frankly, isn't really anything special?

So far this is mediocre. Usually the Jags games here tend to be pretty high scoring too, which is a lot better than that Chiefs game last year which was as interesting as a Braun Strowman squash.

The Colts offensive line is awful right now. They are not going to win many games unless they can improve a lot quickly.

Why is it every game here pretty much stops half way into the first and then picks up again at the end of the 2nd?

Their 2-53 is pitiful. Ask yourself this question. Which personnel unit, other than QB, on the Colts (O-Line, DB's etc.) could you look at and objectively say is in the top 10 in the league. Hell you can make an argument for the Jags WRs or D-Line and they aren't a very good team . I can't see me making that argument anywhere for the Colts. The fact that the front office that put this together is still employed is a travesty. This kid is going to be so shellshocked from having to do everything himself he'll be a detriment to the team if they actually do get good talent in there instead of spreading the wealth to the rest of the team.

Yeah. I swear the 3 times they've scored are the only 3 times they've gotten close.

It's not that all of the players outside of Luck can't play. It's that not enough of them can. Many of those that can are a little long in the tooth (Adams and Jackson, in particular). Their special teams specialists (Vinatieri, McAfee, and Overton) are the best trio in the league, but you don't actually want to rely on any special teams group too much. They have a few other players that would start on most teams in the NFL (Hilton, Langford, Anderson, Mewhort), but not enough of them. They have a few players that just are not playing up to snuff (Costonzo in particular). Everyone else is either really old or really young (most rookies in the NFL, if I'm not mistaken). And that incompletion seals yet another loss.

I must also point out that Luck being so good played a role in why the team around him is still garbage. He did really well. Instead of slowly building around him, Grigson felt pressured to stack the deck behind Luck in order to win now. They did fine, but they are paying the price for not building now.

I don't think that Andrew Luck is the type of person who would do this, but is there a point where he says "I'm in a hopeless situation here, I can't get anywhere with the team built like it currently is"?
Because losing to the Jaguars in London seems like that point.

And that incompletion seals yet another loss. You just made my point for me. I'm looking at the team's units, and not just starters either. With all the injuries and guys having to come out of game, plus substitutions you need to look at depth. Sure the Colts have a couple guys who could start on some teams in the league, but look at that statement again. A couple guys who could start on some teams. I honestly think the Colts front office is stuck in the 80s thinking that a couple elite types or an elite QB can just win you games. Sure when the AFC South was a dumpster fire for half a decade they would take their 6 guaranteed wins in division, go 3-2 at home against the rest of the league and snag one or 2 on the road for 11-12 wins a year. Now that the division has pulled it's head out of their collective asses, the Front Office, not the players, the front office has been exposed and it will take a few years of good drafts and smart contracts to fix this 6-8 win a year rut it looks like they are heading into. I believe that the Seahawks are carrying 16 rookies on their 53 this year which is the most followed by the Browns. If that's more than the Colts I'm not sure.
