Really enjoyed on the same level as the first, just a good dumb shoot-em-up action flick. One thing that really bugged me, though: the deaf assassin. How can you be a deaf assassin? I took her at mute not deaf. That makes more sense. |

Since I made this thread, it would be weird if I didn't write my opinion in here. And man...that thing didn't let me down. Managed to keep the coolness of the first one but amping up the action scenes and going plain bigger with it. {Spoiler} AND THAT ENDING, MAN! I genuinely didn't expect it to go that way but it makes so much sense. John had the backing of the Continental for so long and because of his actions, he doesn't have any of it anymore so it leaves the door open for John Wick to take on the entire goddamn world in Chapter Three and I WANT CHAPTER THREE SO BAD, MAN! I'm expecting a huge twist for Chapter 3. But holy f*** this might be one of my all time favorite action movies. Everything was expanded for the better and great fan service from Keanu and Lawrence reuniting and seeing John Wick use a pencil in battle. I love this film so much.

Saw this last night, and loved every minute of it. Violence, shot to look goddamn cool, and I kinda have a soft spot for Keanu Reeves. {Spoiler}Best pencil-related death since the Joker's "Magic Trick" in The Dark night.
I like how it sets up the third movie, as well. Before, he respected the rules of this underworld of assassins, now he's not, which means all bets are off for him, now he's got everyone after him.

Saw the movie earlier and it was crazy. There has ti be a 3rd one {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}That last 5-10 mins with him getting kicked out and seeing how much power is controlled was crazy. That was a damn effective cliffhanger I'm expecting a huge twist for Chapter 3. But holy f*** this might be one of my all time favorite action movies. Saw this last night; hadn't even seen the original, but you didn't have to because it was just fun as hell.
In some ways it was "schlock", but I say that in only the best, most entertaining sense of the word. If you're going to have a super basic premise for a story, then at least set it in a cool environment and shoot it incredibly well...and they did just that to great effect. Awesome.
