*We cut to the outskirts of Ponyville, late at night. The others have gone home after a long adventure battling the Changelings, and Twilight, Spike, and Starlight walk into the castle. Spike heads to his room for the night, as Twilight heads to her room. Starlight walks over to the living room to relax in front of the fireplace for a bit. She opens the door, surprised that the fire's already lit. Confused, she walks in and looks around, looking over at the balcony, the moonlight coming through the glass doors. She sees a figure in the shadows, as he turns to her.*



Evening, Starlight Glimmer.

SG: "Lupin?!"

In the flesh. Surprised to see me?

SG: "Well, yeah. Twilight told me about your visit to her a while ago. But she said she hasn't seen you since then."

Is that all she told you?

SG: "Well.......she told me you don't trust me."

*Lupin's smile fades, as he frowns a little.*

SG: "She said you didn't believe me when I accepted the importance of friendship. You thought it was all a ruse and that I would strike when I found an opportune moment. Is that correct?"

*Lupin stands there, looking at her.*

Yes. I felt that there was something off, and I was just looking out for her in her best interests, as a friend. You are a powerful unicorn, Starlight Glimmer. On par with Twilight-hime. And that is a dangerous game to play. I've seen them face dangerous threats before. I've helped them face dangerous threats. Tirek, Dr. Wily, the Decepticons, you name it. But you were different. You were crazy enough to try and change a fixed point in time.

*She lowers her head.*

SG: "Yes, I was. I was stupid enough to try something like that. I've learned from my mistakes. I really want to make friends properly and make a difference now. But everywhere I go, I'm reminded of my failures and my past transgressions."

*She looks up at Lupin, surprising him as he notices tears in her eyes.*

SG: "It took me forever to get ponies to finally trust me. I found my friend Sunburst again, and I even made a new friend. But even Twilight didn't trust me after that because it was Trixie. I thought she would've understood best. But.....but...."

*She sniffles, as we hear footsteps. Starlight is surprised, as Lupin wipes away her tears. She looks up at him, as he cracks a soft smile at her, as this plays in the background.*

I'll be honest. Yes, I didn't trust you at first. I kept an eye on you. And I saw something I didn't think I would: I saw you grow into a better pony. And I heard of your battle with Chrysalis and the Changelings. Granted, I was fighting to stop them from spreading while you stormed the castle. But I heard about you helping Thorax by telling him to release all the love he had inside.

*He walks over to the balcony again, looking out the window.*

Do I completely trust you now? I'll be honest. I don't know if I can just yet. But you've proven that you're not all bad. However, I will be keeping an eye on you, just to make sure you stay on the right path.

*He winks at her, before hopping out the balcony, using a rope to slide down the side of the castle to the waiting Fiat.*
