Nice way to avoid the tie. That was like a bank shot.

Well, goddammit. My f***ing leg for a game without the refs deciding it. 1) Refs didn't decide it. 2) Considering that Denver is second to Seattle in defensive penalties they get away with, a fan of theirs complaining that the refs cost THEM a game....is rich

The Chiefs are not as good as their record indicates.
Refs did decide it- they basically were throwing enough flags where they were basically KC's 12th man on the tying drive in regulation.
I hate watching Kansas City play football- they are conservative, they seem to have a play to not lose approach.... yet it keeps working.
Andy Reid and Alex Smith don't really inspire confidence except the W-L column.
They are an 8-3 team that could easily be 4-7 or 5-6.

The catch was a catch only when he had full possession of the ball and he only had that in the end zone. And if the KC's 12 man comment were true, the refs would have called pass interference on that third down incompletion, which they didn't.

As for the Broncos.... I think their 5-year reign atop the AFC West may have unofficially ended.
3 division losses (1 against each team), 2.5 back of OAK with 5 to play (Raiders already beat them this year and they won at Denver last year, and they're much better this year).
Denver may have to hold off MIA/BAL/PIT/TEN for a WC spot IMO.
Next week may be their last easy game of the year vs. Jaguars.
At Titans (hot offense), Patriots (Brady's due for a Denver win), at Arrowhead (KC rarely loses at home in December when they aren't a dumpster fire ala 2012), and I already mentioned the Oakland circumstances for week 17.
This was a game Denver could not afford to lose. And they somehow did.

I do agree with your Reid/Smith comment. As for your last point....you can play that game with every team in the league. Football is a game of inches. Decent teams find ways to take advantage.

This *has* to be the year that Marvin Lewis gets fired, right?

That was a really fun game. Fair amount of scoring but both teams needed to work for all of them.
Wondering if Denver goes Romo next season or if they're willing to roll the dice with this defense and Payton Lynch next year.
KC seems like they can be either the best team in the NFL or a mediocre .500 team. They have a roster full of talent

If the season ended today, both teams from last year's Super Bowl would miss the playoffs

The NFC East have both teams with the highest winning records in the NFC. The Cowboys (10-1) and the Giants (8-3).

I'm convinced he has photos or video of Bengals ownership lighting an orphanage on fire, or murdering puppies. Something. There HAS to be a reason that a coach with some of those talented teams he's coached, and yet cant win a single friggin' playoff game to save his life, still has a job
