I do not think Major Applewhite nor UH is bad. I think being rushed into HC a week beofe and only having 5 of 12 normal coaches kinda played a hand in that. And 1 of those was already out the door.

Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey announced he will not play in the school's bowl game against UNC. Louisiana State running back Leonard Fournette made the same decision and like McCaffrey, he's being excoriated for the decision. Look, I don't view it as quitting on your teammates or putting yourself ahead of the university. When there's tens of millions of dollars to be made, you make the decision that is best for you and your family and anybody who calls you out on it, point to Jaylon Smith, who was a consensus top-five pick before he tore up his knee in the Fiesta Bowl, fell to the second round of the NFL Draft, and lost out on millions in the process. A year from now, who'll remember or care who won the Hyundai Sun Bowl or the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl? But a year from now, people will undoubtedly remember the projected first-round pick who injured himself playing in the Who-Gives-a-F**k Bowl and fell to the middle of the NFL Draft. |
