Supposedly the Pirates are getting a couple of other pieces too. Don’t mind Cole being out of the NL Central, for sure.

They are def trying to defend their title which is what I like Verlander, Keuchel, Cole is a strong 1-2-3

Adrian Gonzalez is going to the Mets on a one year deal. Not too thrilled with this.

Adrian Gonzalez is going to the Mets on a one year deal. Not too thrilled with this. It's low risk high reward If he can be 70% of what his usual production is than it's a good buy with a chance to trade later It's insurance as well and let's Smith know he has to earn the job

While he may not get into Cooperstown, Hideki Matsui will be getting into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame, getting on over 90% of the ballots.
Congrats to Godzilla.

This is a "sensible move" and while Cutch still has value he's not worth giving up anything significant Supposedly Giants in serious talks with Cain too so it seems they are finally making their move tho imo they should have had Jay Bruce for the money he got

Not worth the picks, especially when you're trading away the farm.

I would get him as the leadoff and he's a lefty

Shaw and Beede are NOT going. That leaves Ramos as my lone fear.

I would have much rather gotten Cain than Cutch if I was the Giants. Between this and the Longoria deal, San Fran seems to have doubled down on being a middling franchise.

A reporter from the Nationals somehow knows that Heliot Ramos has NOT been traded.
So I'm good.

The upgrade from Cutch to Cain isn't worth the high draft picks, IMO. If Cain was a JD Martinez level difference maker? Sure. But he isn't.

I think Cain would have been a much better fit in regards to championship pedigree and all that good stuff The Longoria deal was decent for both teams with Giants only giving up really one significant piece I assume the Cutch deal is some lower level players The biggest problem is still they don't have prospects so it's really do you go all in for the next 2-3 years or continue to try and stay afloat to make the playoffs and "hope for the best" which somehow equals championships for them
