I'm always a sucker for the Newhart ending and I'm very surprised it's not used more often (I will be very disappointed if Al Bundy doesn't make an appearance in the final episode of Modern Family), but this just feels way too forced and just not all that funny. But then again I was never a huge fan of either Breaking Bad or Malcolm in the Middle so maybe I'm not the right person to judge this.

Hoped this would be about the Comedy Bang Bang (the podcast) alternate Breaking Bad ending.

I thought this was funny the first time I saw it. But I thought this thread was about the actual Alternate ending, which I'm SOOO glad they didn't use.

Yeah the joke theory is Walter White cancer is cured, his family dies, he turns himself into witness protection, loses his memory and goes crazy, and that's how Malcolm in the Middle begins. Vince Gilligan and many of the writers read the theory and thought it was hilarious they decided to make this fake ending except changing it to it was just a dream from Hal.

I loved Breaking Bad. Truly one of the greatest shows to have ever been on television. There were and are some things I would've done differently had I been a writer or director. I honestly feel that Walt should've been full blown unsympathetic and have no redemption in the end. If it were me I would've had him {Spoiler}kill Skyler or accidentally kill Walt Jr. in a rage after Skyler exposed the truth or had him unmercifully kill Hank. My desired ending was hoping that {Spoiler}He kills Jesse himself after saving him and while still battling cancer he is the lone drug kingpin. The series would end with him in full Heisenberg mode as he knocks on a door, then proceeds to walk away, as a couple of contract killers walk to the door putting silencers on their guns.

It was on the official DVD Must been a gag. Has to be. Possible. Since the "Malcolm ending" was on the disc too.

I wasn't a fan of the ending of the show. Having him sneak back into town and "settle all family business", even if he didn't make it out alive, was just too neat and tidy. It took the idea of "Heisenberg is a criminal genius" and elevated it to the point of parody.

It was on the official DVD Must been a gag. Has to be. I think it's real but people are misinterpreting it. I think it's less "all just a dream" and more that they'r cutting from Heisenberg's end, to his beginning.

Even taking into account all the deeds he did, his character still belayed symptahy from who he was in the beginning. Trying to make him murder his family in cold blood would have just felt silly.
