I hated the Reign of Terror when it was happening, but I find it a lot more enjoyable in hindsight, classic oldschool megalomaniac heel, babyfaces you could believe in, sort of a repetitive formula and probably went on longer than it should have but watching it back there was not a lot to dislike for my taste and the end of it is as good as it gets. Hogan in WCW just got more and more ridiculous over time.

Id rather sit through the Reign of Terror again. It was terrible, boring, and had a shitload of bad booking decisions, but it never had anything as bad as Starrcade 1997.

Hogan, because at least he deserved it, because he was Hulk Hogan.

Hmm. Hogan had better challengers, so there's that, and it had better highlights, but I get more annoyed thinking of Hogan at his worst, because they completely f***ed up the follow up to levels even the Reign didn't touch.
Triple H losing the belt to Batista was a way better payoff than Hogan ultimately gave us, given them pulling them f***ing over Sting and Goldberg out of their defeats of him.

EASY. Hogan. Most definitely Hogan. Yep. Hogan constantly cheated to retain the title and never typically took any credibility from the babyfaces. Triple H on the other hand was beating every hot babyface clean as a sheet, to the point that it was killing all the faces on RAW, so much so that they had to bring Benoit over from SmackDown because RAW didn't have any faces left who he hadn't beaten.

Easily Hogan just for 1997 alone. Hogan as a heel was the freshest and most shocking thing at the time. There's a reason why Hogan might of been the biggest money drawing heel of all time. Yeah it was starting to get stale in 1998 and a lot of questionable descions were made due to Hogan playing politics. But he was still a lot more entertaining and did more good for the buisiness with the good out weighing the bad vs. HHH's bad out weighing the few good things he did.

Hogan, no doubt. HHH's was so much worse because he's a nobody.

Hogan was a huge draw in 1996 and 1997 as a heel.
Him joining the NWO was a major force in getting wrestling hot again, leading to the attitude era etc.
Where as business was tanking with Triple H during his reign of terror. As for on screen, again I'd rather watch Hogan.

Easily Hogan. At least the hulkster is entertaining, and had a reason for being at the top(even though he abused it horribly). Trips on the other hand felt way more forced since this is a guy who should have been a foot note in wrestling history.

HHH's Reign of Terror, definitely. It wasn't near as bad as people might think if you check the record books, it's just that the promos were long and he went over some bad people. Still, I'd watch Trips over Hogan any day of the week no matter what. I was also cracking up at a good amount of things during the Reign. Sure there were some misfires (Booker. f***ing. T. Losing.) but as a whole I can tolerate it.

The Reign of Terror.
I watched both at the time. As bad as it was, HHH eventually gets his from guys like Benoit (I know) and Batista. And I like the surrounding roster more.
Hogan had the Goldberg match, and that was about it for genuine unanswered retribution. Plus the match quality is waaaaaay worse. HHH could still have decent-to-very-good matches, just with crappy booking. Hogan would have both.

Both sucked the life out of any mark, but Hogan's losses to Luger, Sting and Goldberg were at least big deals because FINALLY someone beat his old cheating ass
HHH losing to Shawn, Goldberg wasn't nearly as big, the Benoit WM20 win was great though

HHH rarely won clean as a heel. Also, if we're going solely on just either HHHs matches and promos, I pick Triple H. Atleast his matches had a degree of competence and didn't follow the Hogan formula of weak double axe handles, punches, and endless weight belt shots prior to an nWo run in. Also, nothing HHH has done will ever come even remotely close to Hogan and Starrcade. For all the bullshit about Hogan being this amazing businessman, he was a guy who would rather win and make one million than lose and make five million. Just f***ing LOSE. It's not real!

If we have to watch the promos too, then Hogan.
I still have nightmares about HHH's 40 Minute Promo From Hell.

If I had to watch the entire shows during that time, it would be Hogan by some margin because the WCW midcard during that period was red hot with something for everyone, something the WWE have never really mastered. If it was just their promos and matches alone, I'd just quit wrestling entirely, I find watching both men to be a chore, Hogan was embarrassing and Triple H is someone who should have been a transitional champion at best, his ring work and promos aren't good enough for the god push he received.
