Here's one that just shocked me
Matt Cassel is still in the league. I would have thought after how bad he was with Dallas last year he would be out

Just read that Julio Franco was still playing as recently as last year. That guy was 70 when the White Sox got him in 1994. (And he hit a home run when I saw them play the Indians at the new Jacobs Field.) Jamie Moyer was another one. This topic begins and ends with Julio Franco. The guy has been around so long, his rookie year was in black and white

Pakistan's current cricket captain Misbah Ul-Haq is 42. Another Cricketer Brad Hogg is playing high level cricket in both Australia & India, he will be 46 in February. He first played for Australia in 1996.

Jaromir Jagr. He's been playing longer than at least 25% of the players in the NHL now have been alive. Jagr won his first Stanley Cup before Michael Jordan won his first NBA Championship...

I've just read a story about Japanese footballer Kazuyoshi Miura who is still playing professionally for Yokohama FC in the J2 League. He will be 50 next month and has just signed a new contract extension.
What makes this story even more incredible is that he isn't a goalkeeper, he is actually a striker.

Crazier that he said he wants to play another Ten years which would make him 55. If in the NHL would he be the oldest player in history to play an official game. Not including clearly Alumni games.

The Williams sisters.. both nearling their late 30s. Been going since the 90's
Well actually I'm not surprised they are still playing.. They still absolutely dominate on the tennis court.

Tennis players have been going longer. Much like in other sports, medical science made it so they can. A knee injury or torn rotator cuff is no longer the death knell of a career. Martina Hingis is still going (mainly in doubles, but she's out there). A combination of starting as teens and taking care of one's self helps.

Derrick Johnson with the Chiefs seems like he's been there long enough to have played with Christian Okoye.

James Harrison for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Julius Peppers for the Carolina Panthers
Not just for playing but continuing to play at an extremely high level, they're both defensive players pushing 40, that's crazy to me.
