Today it got about as low as -1 in eastern Kansas. Will be 40 in 3 days. Really.

Warm thoughts from Michigan - in Ann Arbor right now it's 15, feels like 13.

aka just slightly colder than normal. I honestly thought yesterday I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between -11 and -20, but you absolutely can. It's sheer horror.

When I was out there in college two winters in a row it was -15 with a -30 windchill. Back in my hometown and people complain about +15 and I tell them to pipe down.

Right now, I'm laughing at all of you as I relax in comfortable 60-degree conditions in Palm Springs.
But come July, you'll all strike back at me with a vengeance as I struggle to survive in 120-degree temperatures.

We'll also laugh at you when you tell that joke about the two ducks and one turkey playing poker.

That list ranked Chicago above New York. It's invalid. It's fake news. I agree.

...ya know, I remember a time, not that long ago, where that would be the norm here.
I mean, it's December. Winter is actually coming. It's supposed to be cold in the northern hemisphere. Back in my day, Halloween used to be the barrier between it being kinda warm and the temperature dropping to "screw you" levels, and I wonder if we've just gotten used to it being warmer.
Now, if it reaches double digits above Celcius by Christmas? I'mma be peeved.

Was -1 when I left to go to a doctor's appointment.
No way I'm gonna be able to work today as it requires me to be outside for a while just getting to it. Plus. I have a respiratory issue.

4 inches of snow Friday night into Saturday. 58 degrees melted it all away yesterday. 16 degrees today.

It's actually nearing 60 degrees in NYC, but its a shitty rainy/windy day Which was odd because it was stupidly cold Friday and Saturday. not negative Farenheight cold... but still pretty damn cold considering how warm it was before and after.

That's terrible. But here in Edmonton we call that Tuesday. I have worked outdoors in 12+ hour shifts when it was -50 and -60C before. My god, that's like a science experiment gone horribly wrong. I store cells for short term cryo at -80. Granted, actual long term cryo is done much colder, but still.
