Everything seems so mellow on the radio now. I guess Taylor Swift has some songs for popular people who just broke up, but I'm talking about the more traditional angry music. Like grunge or (sigh) nu-metal.

Probably Twenty One Pilots or some Indy stuff I'm getting too old to have heard of.

My niece likes Green Day and something called Twenty One Pilots. Makes sense. I'd be angry too if I was listening to Green Day.

My niece likes Green Day and something called Twenty One Pilots. Kids are still in to Green Day? They were big when I was a teenager well over a decade ago.

Is there really any form of angry rock music in the mainstream nowadays? I can remember during the whole rebellious phase I went through the bands around were Korn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Linkin Park, Orgy, Powerman 5000, Static X, and Linkin Park was just emerging onto the scene as well.

Five Finger Death Punch? Avenged Sevenfold? Volbeat? Black Veil Brides? A Day to Remember? I Prevail? Of Mice & Men? There are question marks because I'm guessing. I know of these bands, but don't know how angry or mainstream they are.

It has to be Twenty One Pilots. Heathens seems to be written by an angry angsty spooky 13 year old who is bragging on how edgy and crazy his friends are.

it's significantly easier to find non-mainstream metal and punk bands than it ever was; most likely today's teens aren't taking their angst cues from MTV anymore.

Skrillex? Or could that even be considered rock (or even 'music')?

A7X new album is kinda amazing but different from everything they've made before, Of Mice & Men new album sounds like Linkin Park
