RAW is live from Columbus, Ohio - and we've gone past the Roadblock that signals the End of the Line, and we're now on the six week road to San Antonio for the 2017 Royal Rumble. And last night was pretty momentous for several reasons...
How aware was Kevin Owens that Chris Jericho had the plan to give him a Codebreaker right in front of the referee in order to get Roman Reigns disqualified? By attacking his "friend", Jericho tried making sure that Reigns was out of the Universal Title picture, but somehow we doubt that management will see it that way. Reigns and his reunited pal Seth Rollins attacked JeriKO after the match, so this one's surely not over. Will we learn their Royal Rumble fates tonight?
The saga between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks, by way of management dictation, is over. And this means Sasha may be in the wilderness for a while, as Flair is RAW Women's Champion for the fourth time. Banks was on course to retain her title, up 2-1 with the match nearing its end, but Charlotte submitted her, and gained another tap out in overtime to win the title. Charlotte must now move on to another challenger, but who will it be? And what's next for Sasha? Bear in mind that Emmalina was meant to debut last week, and has since taken shots at the Four Horsewomen in social media posts...
For the first time since August 2015, The New Day will enter RAW without the RAW Tag Team Championship. The strange pairing of Cesaro and Sheamus got their act together and dethroned Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods thanks to the use of a false tag, but after the match, it became obvious that things aren't perfect between the new champions, when Cesaro went to hug the New Day, only for Sheamus to not follow suit, and take both the title belts. How will The New Day react to no longer having the titles, and will they go right for a rematch?
Sami Zayn survived 10 minutes with the monster Braun Strowman last night, but he's said that's not enough for him, and now plans to actually defeat Strowman in a match. Will Zayn get that opportunity in the near future, and will Strowman get to him before he gets it? And what will Mick Foley say about all this?
Rich Swann remains the Cruiserweight Champion, defeating Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins to hang onto his title, but he has a new foe in the Man That Gravity Forgot, Neville. Fans have been calling for the former NXT Champion to enter the Cruiserweight Division for a while now, and he did so by making a major statement, taking out both Swann and Perkins. Is Neville considering it an insult that the WWE Universe wanted him in a division he may see as beneath him? And how will Swann, Perkins or anyone else in the Cruiserweight Division react?
We do have one match already confirmed for RAW tonight, as Big Cass and Rusev will do battle again, following last night's Kickoff Show where Rusev and Lana abused Enzo Amore again to get Cass counted out. Enzo is clearly the weak point when it comes to this issue, so how will Cass overcome this to finally get revenge against the Bulgarian Brute and the Ravishing Russian?
All this and much more tonight from 8/7c on USA!
