If I'm trying to lower the sodium content- I throw the ramen flavor packet out and replace it with Mrs. Dash (no sodium, a nice varied flavor, and Dollar Tree had pretty big jars of the store brand for the cheapness necessary for "ramen" that'd last long.)
For extra ones- a tin of canned tuna and/or other canned fish usually works, and merges well with shrimp flavor.

1) I put the whole dry brick directly into my mouth. 2) I pour the boiling water into my mouth. 3) I snort the flavour packet, sweet soy sauce and chilli sauce. 4) I then have sex with your fat ass Mum. That's right. You. The person reading this. We do it right on the tarmac. 4a) Your favourite sports team is terrible.

I try to not eat them, gotta watch my sodium intake. But when I do I drain almost all the water off them. Then add in the flavor packed and either some diced onions or if I got them diced fresh green onions.

Just in case anyone needed to be reminded what real ramen looks like.

I take a ramen package (chile is my favorite, or that new sriracha one which is similar to the old tomato one they discontinued), smash it THE **** UP, boil water, put it in for only a brief period of time since I like it crunchier, and usually put in a boiled egg and some cilantro.

Just in case anyone needed to be reminded what real ramen looks like. Of course it's way better, but real waffles are better than Eggos, too. Doesn't mean you necessarily have a waffle iron.

You'd be surprised at the number of people I met who never ate at a Japanese restaurant and thought store ramen was the only type of ramen.

It has been a while since I ate it but when I was younger my grandparents used to chop up fresh bell pepper and put that in it. That was really good and my Grandpa used to make it for a snack for us after school when it was cold.

Just in case anyone needed to be reminded what real ramen looks like. I know we're talking about ramen in this thread, but this picture gives me a sudden craving for Pho.

I've never had ramen at a Japanese restaurant because I'm always checking for the sushi rolls. My home ramen game is pretty basic. I cook them for ten minutes, drain the bowl and then mix up some combination of the flavoring it came with, salad dressing, or lemon juice. Every time I try to get cute with my ramen, it blows up in my face.

I live in Japan so most of my ramen intake is at actual restaurants, but when I'm feeling instant I usually get something like spicy miso or spicy garlic flavor. Off the beaten path is a curry/cheese flavor that just feels right in the winter.

I try to abstain from judging folk, but some y'all put cheese in your noodles and, as consequence, I'm preparing your chamber in hell.
I crush my noodles into a mug then stir in a Knorr instant spicy tomato soup, then promptly sit there wallowing in my basic game.

My daughter adds some shredded cheese to hers. She's like me, she can eat cheap.

When I make the local ramen like Nisan, I just boil the noodles in just enough water to cover the noodles, then add the packet. The lower water content and starch from the noodles makes a nice glaze that covers the noodles with little leftover water. Also, sometimes when I am in the mood for chips and don't have any handy,I just break up a brick of ramen, spritz it with hot tap water and toss it in the spice packet. Just in case anyone needed to be reminded what real ramen looks like. Of course real is better, I had some today for lunch/dinner with broad noodles and goat meat. They were great.

Nongshim brands are my second favorite brand of ramen, haven't had a bad flavor yet. My favorite ones are from Indomie, especially the Mi Goreng flavor, which is not technically ramen, but from where I stand, if it is noodles that come in a packet with seasoning packs and sometimes accompaniments then it is ramen.

I should try it. I am just a little worried after getting burned so badly by Top Ramen, which frankly tasted astonishing;y bad.
