...Test's "Iron-Clad" contract?
I tend not to remember the details of shows, but did they ever explain why they were able to fire a guy who won the privilege of being un-fire-able?

I assume it ran out eventually, or it specifically just protected him from being among the casualties of the Alliance's defeat, and he just lorded that over them.

From what I remember it was only good for a year.

"Iron clad" was referring to his testicles.

Also brings to mind that Christian and Test were part of The Alliance.
I mean, nothing quite screams WCW as a pair of midcarders synonymous with WWF.
Nothing at all.

Much like the Old Gods or a Doctor Who villain, iron clad contracts stop working when you stop thinking about them.

Much like the Old Gods or a Doctor Who villain, iron clad contracts stop working when you stop thinking about them. It's akin to running off a cliff in the Road Runner cartoons. You only fall if you notice you're not on land anymore. The Sniglet for this is, appropriately "Wily's Law".

Never Mentioned again after around the Rumble 2002 iirc Actually it was in their magazine just a month or so prior to November 2002. The informer column (who was written by someone else since Vince Russo wasn't working at WWE this time) said that his iron clad contract is going to expire soon. But other than that, it wasn't mentioned after the '02 Rumble.

It was a really strange thing.
Like, in terms of potential, it was a storyline that you could literally do loads with and they did a bit with to start. Test was kicking referees, being a dick to everyone and all this stuff, with no one able to do a thing.
And then they just dropped it.

Him being an uncaring asshole at first, living it up for a while, and then desperately trying to win a title before his contract runs out could have made for a fun story.

I thought it was something they should have brought up when they did the flag burning angle with the Unamericans. It would at least give them a reason that the WWE is allowing such a thing to happen on their show.
