Something I notice during Christmas Shopping is seeing stuff that was around when I was a kid. Stuff like Mouse Trap and Connect 4 I could understand. But when I saw that Simon is still around it shocked me. I would have thought it would have died out at the end of the 90's

I didn't realize they still made Tab Cola, not sure why either.

I had no clue what Simon was until the mid-to-late 90s when I was at my grandfather's house and going through my mom's old room. Glad to hear they're still around in this day and age. I figured they would've turned it into an app by now.

I didn't realize they still made Tab Cola, not sure why either. Because it is delicious! I remember the 8-pack of glass bottles with the pretty stars. I saw it at a store in 1998 and said, "I must try this again." Was kinda frustrating when everybody at work wanted a taste. I still buy it on occasion if Coke is on sale. (It's a Coca-Cola product.) Diet Rite, on the other hand, I'm surprised they still make. That's paint thinner in a 2-liter bottle.

It was surprising to hear that the last VCR rolled off the production line in 2016. I thought they stopped making new ones years ago and what was on the shelves was just old stock bring cleared out.

I was in a Walgreens last year and saw they not only sold blank VHS tapes, but blank audio tapes as well. Maxell 4 Life!

Terry's Chocolate Oranges. I know they're popular in England, but in the US I don't think I've seen any kind of advertisement for them, either TV or print, in about 15 years, and I never see them in regular stores like a Rite Aid or CVS or a supermarket, so I usually forget they even exist. But every so often when I'm at a junk store like a Christmas Tree Shops or a Dollar Tree I'll see a big bin of them for sale.

I didn't think the Christmas Tree Shop chain of stores still existed, I haven't been to one since the early 90's.

Baseball cards. You'd think the whole "Frank Thomas Rookie cards are going to send my kids to college" boom and bust would have turned off all but the most hardcore fans (not to mention the rise of CCGs as well) but you still see them and they still sell well.

Not entirely surprising, Kids still love collectible stuff and baseball, which is the market for it.

I've considered collecting baseball or Star Wars cards or something, but nowadays you get like 5 cards in a pack that costs like 3 or 4 dollars. When I was a kid, a pack of baseball cards was 50 cents to a dollar and you got like 10 to 12 cards along with a stick of gum if they were Topps. It just doesn't seem worth it now.

Not only do they still make Heelies, they now make them with the nylon pad from Soap Shoes so you can skate straight into a rail grind.

I'll buy a rack pack for $3.99 every January. Nowadays, I don't search for just my team and hope they have one (if I do get a White Sox card, it's a guy they traded already); I hope at least 10 of them are guys I heard of/played more than 3 full seasons. And the inserts are all garbage.
