Time and time again he's shown he has no problem putting others wrestlers over and tonight American Alpha got their signature win for the belts while also pinning Orton to capture those titles.
While there is shock at Wyatts losing it so soon but AA pinning Orton gives them a whole new level of credibility. A veteran doing good work out there.

This man lost to Mark Henry clean as a sheet in the middle of the ring. He seems to gotten his ego beaten out of him by Hunter.

When I saw that it was AA that had won the titles I was surprised. Then when I found out they were freebirding the titles and Harper was in there I figured he was eating the pin as a lead up to him being evicted from the Wyatts. I did not expect this. Clearly they're furthering the issues between Harper and Orton and I'm surprised that the Wyatts were used as transitional champs but it's great for AA. A lot of people were hoping they'd see gold sooner than later. I am curious to see where these issues with Harper and Orton go. If it leads to Harper leaving the group and going over Orton before tearing through the roster, that'd be awesome.
Edit: I've never been a fan of Orton. I don't find his promos entertaining at all. However, I will give him kudos for being willing to put people over. Respect for that.

He was also the only main eventer to lose to Swagger during his title run wasn't he? Orton lost clean to Swagger in Jack's 1st world title defense. Orton is that spot where he got a lot of credibility but losing matches don't hurt him but it is a boost for the person who beat him.

Why would he even have a rep for not laying down??
Orton isn't Cena, HHH or HBK (90s version)

I am honestly shocked people are shocked that Orton took the fall, that is one of those things Orton always seems to do. He honestly seems to be one of the most unselfish people on the roster.

I think a lot of people still hold a grudge against him for being an asshole in his past. Facts is he has put people over constantly and does it damn near to the level Rock did it in terms of being unselfish

Orton isn't a star or a draw so it's not like they're risking profits by beating him.

Lots of main event talents over the past decade or so have done their job whenever asked so it's not particularly praiseworthy, talent have no leverage, if they're not a McMahon pet project or a Cena level draw, if they say no too often they will be bumped down the card and fired when their contract is up.
Orton has a dishonourable discharge from the marines and failed wellness tests hanging over him, he's not going to go make it big in Hollywood if the WWE fire him so he's going to stay put and do whatever is asked of him as long as the cheques keep on clearing.

Orton isn't a star or a draw so it's not like they're risking profits by beating him. The fact that he had an entire meme surrounding his finishing move, one that people still pop for when he does it (probably not now as a Wyatt, though) says otherwise.

I'm sure Orton is smart enough to know that he is over and always will be and if he can help somebody else out he will. He doesn't seem insecure about his spot. Maybe working with HHH taught him that.

What does that have to do with him using his leverage as one of the best of his generation to put other guys over. He's not getting fired

He's not getting fired I'm just pointing out, there is no alternative for a guy like Orton, nowhere that will pay him as well and as someone with no leverage, he has no space to really rock the boat even if he wanted to. When Orton has gotten hurt or suspended, business hasn't been affected one way or another, ratings haven't dropped, buyrates or house show attendance and as much as management like him, they know there are a dozen people on the roster that can take his place.

No one man is bigger than the brand but in saying that you are selling Orton completely short like he's another name on the roster
