When I first joined this forum, I did so because I'd already been lurking the site for a while, and I figured I may as well join considering all the time I'd spent reading the forums. Even then though, this forum wasn't my 'main' forum, but since the forum that I used to post on all the time has considerably shrunk in activity (as well as some bad arguments involving some members of the forum) this place has become my 'main' forum by default...I still lurk more than I post though. Speaking of which, while I find this forum genuinely nicer than most places on the internet, I do find it increasingly hard to express my opinions, so I usually don't bother. I mean, I've always found it a bit hard to express my opinions anyway, but I've become fearful of expressing myself on this forum as a whole. I'm pretty sure I'm the most hated person on these forums anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter... Why do you feel that way? I've never seen anyone criticize anyone else for expressing their opinions or thoughts. I mean, you might have people disagree with your interpretation of something, but nobody's telling you to not post things.

This was the first forum that I felt at least somewhat welcome at. In the past I had bad experiences lurking and posting in places where I was afraid to say what I really felt. I was nervous that I would be rejected because my opinion didn't necessarily jive with what the majority felt.
One board I frequented as a teen was basically, in retrospect, a playground for bullies. The site's main hook was they linked to places they felt were weird or eccentric. You weren't allowed to go on the featured sites directly and troll, but you could say any nasty thing you wanted to about them in the main forum. Racist and homophobic humor was the norm, and if you were part of certain fandoms, like anime, furry or even Star Wars, you were frequently a target for abuse. It was a really mean-spirited place, and the few posts I did make there basically boiled down to "uh guys, maybe we could maybe be less pricky to some of these people? They're not hurting anyone.". And needless to say, that didn't make me the most popular member. But again, I was young and I didn't want to look like a weirdo or freak. In my mind, these were the "online cool kids", even with the flaming and fighting that would break out.
So when I found the Wrestlecrap forums roughly ten years ago (wow, time flies), I was over the moon when I found the off-topic section and how unabashedly geeky it was. I loved the rules that cracked down on flaming, religious/political discussion or wishing harm on people, and how friendly and accepting people were here. The wrestling boards were a bonus, it was the community that attracted me. I don't think the rules are strict at all, most everyone here- both staff and the members- try their damnedest to make this place a welcoming, loose and fun community.
FAN eventually brought me back into social media. I credit this place with allowing me to be more open and secure about who I am, and I've made some great friends as well too. Thank you all immensely for tolerating me for so long (and also giving me a platform for my writing)!

You're fine. Yamcha was a loser. I'd be upset if you killed Vegeta, but you wouldn't be able to kill him, anyway. So it's a moot point.

I'm pretty sure I'm the most hated person on these forums anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter... I very highly doubt that you are. I will be shortly, probably, since I've written a giant ranting post that has opposing opinions to some people on this forum. I mean, you might have people disagree with your interpretation of something, but nobody's telling you to not post things. Because if the internet has taught me anything, if my personal opinions and beliefs don't match up 100% with the people you talk to, they hate you. If I could, I would give you a long list of people we banned this year, as well as people who came close to being banned. You're not on the list. *Edit And something something Jericho. I'll probably be banned (or at least warned by a mod) once I've posted the long ranty thing I just wrote...

Because if the internet has taught me anything, if my personal opinions and beliefs don't match up 100% with the people you talk to, they hate you. ok, let's say just for the sake of argument that you're right, let's say that you manage to anger some complete stranger on the internet that you'll never meet half way around the world over your opinion. So. What. you know what will happen? they'll live. and so will you. you know what else will happen? the sun will still rise in the morning, babies and puppies will be born, people will find something to give their life more meaning, somebody will up load something hilarious and stupid on the internet and everything will be fine. I promise you, you're fine

This place is the first website that I visit each day. Why?
Because I know there will be something that will make me laugh, and it's always great to start your day off with a smile. So thank you to everyone on this site.

This place is pretty laid back and I love all the joke threads. There's another forum I rarely go on that's just way too serious and full of teens and young adults who think they know how the world works. Here? The members are older, but way more chill. I've wondered about that, we don't seem to have a younger element here anymore. Are we not hip? Do teens not watch wrestling? Are we boring old people fuddy-duddy types? Should have partner up with Porn Hub to get the younger audience in a great cross marketing partnership.
