Just finished watching The Punisher (2004) on Netflix and man...I kept thinking about how I wish it got a sequel. Especially since we got War Zone instead, (Ray Stevenson aside ) It's just such an enjoyable and entertaining movie throughout. It's not the greatest comic adapation in the world but it's definately pretty solid. It had some solid performances amd Thomas Jane's voice is f***ing awesome. I mean...what more could you ask for and yet we didn't get a sequel. It makes me sad.

The Punisher video game that came out in 2005 was sorta a sequel. Even characters like Iron Man and Black Widow appear.
I stopped playing it a few months ago because I rage quitted at that annoying boss battle with The Russian, but it was a fun game.

Wasn't War Zone a sequel but they just replaced the actor?
(Honestly not sure, I didn't like the movie you are referring to so I didn't watch War Zone).

You probably would not have been keen on the boss fight with {Spoiler}Bullseye . That fight is pretty awful and can take a long while.

I hated the sound of this movie. Everything sounded wrong.

I would have agreed with you before I saw Bernthal's portrayal.

I would have agreed with you before I saw Bernthal's portrayal. Gotta agree there. Jane did a good job, and it was a decent movie, but Berenthal just KILLS it.

Dark Knight Rises is a spiritual sequel. Batman spends a lot of time to get a fire signal like Punisher.

God, I loved this. I love that they pulled this off without using any of the Marvel stuff.

Warzone is sorta a sequel. For me it is the best Punisher film. Comes the closest to capturing the feel of the various comics with Frank.

I much prefer Warzone over the Thomas Jane Punisher. Warzone's kills are f***in' amazing.

Thomas Jane killed it. Did a great job. So did Berenthal recently.
The movie was up and down but especially at the time, was pretty alright.

Me too. Thankfully Netflix's Punisher is even more awesome, and that's just on Daredevil!

A lot of people disagree with me, but I still think '04 Punisher is the best Punisher movie and Thomas Jane is EASILY the best Frank Castle/Punisher. He absolutely nailed it and actually cared about the character.
My Punisher rankings would be:
1. Thomas Jane-isher 2. Dolph Lundgren-isher 3. Jon Bernthal-isher 4. Ray Stevenson-isher
