Okay.. six Pokémon questions that always bothered me... I never played the games or watched the show but I've always wondered these few things?
1) Where are the real animals? 2) Where did Pokémon come from? Did they just appear one day? Can they find love and mate and make new baby Pokémon? 3) Why do they keep finding more and new Pokémon.? 4) Can the smart talking Pokémon get jobs or lead semi normal lifes and don't they know or care that their semi pet fighting slaves? 5) Do they use Pokémon for other practical uses like transportation or construction (Like in the Flintstones) or do they just use them for random fights and tournaments. 6) Can a Pokémon go extinct? Seriously can they even die?

2) Can they find love and mate and make new baby Pokémon? Pokemon breeding exists in most generations. There are even some Pokemon species that can mate that are rather illogical (Wailord and Skitty anyone?).

1. I think Pokemon are supposed to be like the animals, despite the fact that some Pokemon are described as "dog" or "cat" in the Pokedex. The anime has shown real fish at times however. 2. The "god" of Pokemon is Arceus who created various legendary Pokemon. All Pokemon are said to descend from Mew, so I assume that Arceus made all Pokemon desend from Mew. Pokemon eggs exist, so yes, they can breed. 3. Because Nintendo and Game Freak love money. 4. The only talking Pokemon is Meowth in the anime, which is a completely different canon from the games. Pokemon can be used as pets, as Professor Oak says. 4. Yes. Pokemon can be used to travel such as flying. In Red/Blue, an old man's Machop is flattening land to make a building. In Ruby/Sapphire, Machoke's are used to help the player move into their new home. 5. I don't think so, but some Pokedex entries state that some Pokemon almost became extinct at one point in time.

7) Has there ever been a war fought with Pokémon? Yes. Also to review a previous answer Pokemon can go extinct hence ''Fossil'' Pokemon which have gone extinct.

1) Where are the real animals?
In the game, only Pokémon and Humans existed
2) Where did Pokémon come from? Did they just appear one day? Can they find love and mate and make new baby Pokémon?
Arceus is god of pokemon and it created most of the legendary pokemon whom created pokemon themself like Lugia creating the legendary birds. Almost every other pokemon came from Mew. There are some man made pokemon too like Polygon and Mewtwo. Also pokemon can breed with one another to created baby pokemon of their own.
3) Why do they keep finding more and new Pokémon.?
Some pokemon are region only with there being 7 different regions so far.
4) Can the smart talking Pokémon get jobs or lead semi normal lifes and don't they know or care that their semi pet fighting slaves?
Not sure
5) Do they use Pokémon for other practical uses like transportation or construction (Like in the Flintstones) or do they just use them for random fights and tournaments.
In sun and moon, you can called upon different pokemon to do different task like flying to different cities.
6) Can a Pokémon go extinct? Seriously can they even die?
Yes pokemon can die and go extinct. But they can also be bought back to life like the fossils pokemon you find in the game.
7)Has there ever been a war fought with Pokémon?
Yes and it was part of the side story in X and Y.

Seriously can they even die? 1. It is inconsistent, whether or not "real" animals exist. Sometimes they seem to imply they exist, other times they seem to imply pokemon fulfill every part of the food chain. 2. They can mate, and either were created by Arceus, evolved from Mew as an ancient ancestor, or some combination in between. All of recorded human history in the games has pokemon, and some speculate humans, too, evolved from pokemon or a common ancestor. 3. Some of it is just a device for introducing new games, but they justify it in that there are so many land masses out there, that recording every existing pokemon is a work in progress. 4. Some of them have jobs, though typically working under people. Machamp and Machoke are often part of moving companies, construction, etc. Muk and Grimer in the new games eat trash, which they'd like to do, anyhow, so it's a good deal for them. 5. Yes, they have other uses, specifically the ones you mentioned. Plus, some fire pokemon work in restaurants, some pokemon work on ranches and farms, and Delibird delivers packages. 6. They can die, though not in the sort of battling you do in-game, which is implied to be more sport than life and death. There are extinct pokemon, though some of them can be revived from fossils, Jurassic Park-style.
