Why don't they just run a "Son of Perfect" gimmick trial. It might catch on. Yeah I know some guys want to distance their gimmick from their famous Dad's but it's weird that Axel doesn't do SOMETHING Mr Perfect related considering he's ripping off another former legend anyway and not doing anything original.

I know that they were in a time period where they didn't want anybody using their real name, but they still should have went with the "Average Joe Hennig" (or if they didn't want to use "Hennig", then use "McGillicutty" or "Axel" or "Curtis" or whatever, but keep the Joe part) thing, and had him redo all of his father's old vignettes, but be mostly "meh" at everything (since his father was Perfect, but he's just Average Joe).

They already had Charlie Haas do that, though.

What Axel should do is try to do a 2017 Mr. Perfect gimmick. The difference in his case is that he f***s the gimmick up. Say he misses a catch or screws up the great stuff Perfect did. However, in Axel's case, he always fumbles his way to a win which makes him think he's really the successor.
