The first episode of RAW of 2017 is TONIGHT in Tampa, and it's the first RAW in several months not up against NFL Football, although there is college football for the next two weeks. And the red brand are kicking off the year big...
It's four weeks to go until the Royal Rumble in San Antonio at the Alamodome, and to remind us all what's at stake, Goldberg will be on the show tonight. He's up against the man he beat in under 90 seconds at the Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar, and 28 other Superstars in the Royal Rumble Match to determine who gets the main event slot at WrestleMania XXXIII, and this is his first appearance since finding out that Lesnar would be in the match. What does DA MAN have in store tonight?
At Roadblock: End of the Line, Sami Zayn was able to last 10 minutes against Braun Strowman, and this was enough to set Strowman off on the rampage he's currently on, taking out several big name Superstars with ease. Tonight, Zayn is presented with a different challenge, as he takes on the massive Strowman in a Last Man Standing match, where he has to keep Strowman down for 10 seconds. This likely presents the largest odds difference in RAW history since Kevin Federline entered the RAW ring against John Cena ten years ago... and we know how that turned out. Will similar fortune favour Zayn tonight?
Universal Champion Kevin Owens was defeated in his quest for Roman Reigns' United States Title last week, thanks mainly to Seth Rollins keeping Chris Jericho at bay. At the Royal Rumble, Jericho will be locked in a shark cage and risen high above the ring as Owens defends the Universal Title against Reigns. What measures will Owens take tonight to ensure the playing field is levelled out to minimise Reigns' momentum?
Neville scored a huge victory over Cruiserweight Champion The Outlandish Rich Swann on last week's episode of 205 Live, and surely this has earned him a future shot at Swann's Cruiserweight Title. Will we find out tonight when Neville gets his shot? Will Jack Gallagher engage in another Gentleman's Duel? And will Noam Dar finally get his ALICIA FOOOOOOOOOOX?
This time last week, Bayley was happily up 3-0 over Charlotte Flair in their meetings on the main roster. Thanks to a timely visit to her attorneys, and her utilisation of Dana Brooke as a guest referee, Flair changed that to merely 2-1, as Flair had Bayley's win two weeks ago stricken from the records due to Flair's shoulders being up, and then Brooke as a crooked referee helped Flair defeat Bayley last week where Bayley would have got a title match had she won. What will Bayley do to ensure she gets a fair chance against the Four Time RAW Women's Champion?
All this and plenty more as RAW heads into the new year from 8/7c on USA!
