Word on the streets is it will be Randy Orton. Makes sense. Hopefully for the title

Eh, don't know if I'm down for another Orton face run, especially if it means AJ loses at two Manias in a row.

The problem I have with springboard foreman/RKO spot is that we have already seen that Maina before with Punk not that we'll see a replay of that anytime soon. You know what I'd change the AJ/HBK rumor from the Rumble to Mania. Yeah that's true but you know AJ is going to get 10 times higher off the jump! I don't know what else he could counter. A spiral tap might be a little ambitious... It would be extra hilarious if AJ/Orton ended with the Forearm into RKO spot since AJ's Mania match with Y2J ended with a Forearm into Codebreaker spot. And, short of him being a body in the Andre Battle Royal, I'd be down for pretty much anyone vs. AJ.

My question is, will he do the right thing? See, stuff like this is why I ultimately won't be bothered by whoever AJ faces. No fan can conceivably accuse WWE of "screwing him over" or not taking advantage of him the way TNA did. He's already a golden boy for WWE.

The minute AJ losses two matches in a row which is going to happen sooner than later people will say he's being screwed. Never mind the fact he's had one of the greatest debut years ever. Never mind he beat Cena clean. All they will remember is the losses and how he's being screwed.

Yeah, I know it's going to happen with some fans, and they won't realize how wrong they are. Since at least Extreme Rules he's been booked like an absolute beast. Any indie worker would kill to look as good as he did in WWE in 2016. When AJ's strength in storylines gets scaled back, which it eventually has to be, people are going to accuse WWE of "wasting him". People who haven't seen him hide from Angle and Christian at his grandmother's house in TNA. At one point he looked like a bigger clown than Santino.

People already complain about how AJ acts too goofy sometimes but they don't realize that's part of his character. He can go from clown to break your neck in 5 seconds. AJ knows what the deal is and will gladly put people over when the time comes. Your time on top doesn't last forever and eventually you have to put guys over same way you was put over which he has no problem with. A lot of people haven't seen the Prince AJ stuff from him wearing a turkey suit and all that. Anything he does is golden because nothing will compare to the worst they did to him in TNA. When I made the triple threat thread a few weeks back people talked about how having him in a match with Taker and Cena is a waste. It's crazy

It's crazy Ideally I'd like Cena and Taker to be a solo match, but AJ defending in a triple threat wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Especially since I feel Cena should tie Ric Flair at a Wrestlemania, not a Rumble.

In an ideal world a one on one match would be best but considering how stacked the card could be that is one potential matchup that I feel is far from a waste of AJs time. Personally I think any combination of those 3 will somehow be involved with the title come Mania. Whether it be Taker winning the Rumble and Cena beating AJ. Or Taker going to face AJ at the Rumble. However, there is the curveball of Cena/Taker being its own match without a title & AJ gets someone like Orton. Either way his prospects for a Mania match looks real good. You can even throw him and Samoa Joe out there with minimal build and it could suffice.

Not Taker because I still think Cena/Taker is seen as a bigger match.
Doubt HBK comes out of retirement. Ortons lost some steam. If it was up to me? Balor. Finn wins the rumble or its treated like an interpromotional match.

I want Joe to debut in the Rumble and win it, then face AJ at Mania. Here's my answer

If it was up to me? Balor. This is my choice. They've got a ready-made basis for a feud, now that the WWE is doing more to acknowledge things that happen outside their bubble universe. I know they can't say "Bullet Club" but they can still play up a rivalry over who was the better man. More importantly, the match would be f***ing amazing.
