It's also the Australian Supercars finale as well, first time race around a new street circuit in Newcastle. Thriller of a finish coming up here, with six time champion Jamie Whincup leading and current points leader Scott McLaughlin trying to make a charge through the midfield to cover the points difference and win his first title.

Yellow flag is out for debris with 25 laps to go. McLaughlin needs to be 11th or higher to win the title, and he's currently 13th.

And McLaughlin got caught up in a mess as they go back to green! Car's damaged, but is it enough to warrant a pit stop?

This is Hamilton/Massa Brazil 2008 shit right here...

HOLY SHIT, Whincup wins the race, McLaughlin finishes 11th but takes a time penalty for late contact! Whincup is champion!
This has gone from Hamilton/Massa 2008 to a combination between the championship-deciding incidents of Harvey/Cleland/Soper BTCC 1992 and Schumacher/Hill F1 1994.

10 minutes until the start of the final F1 race of 2017.
With all the major stuff already decided, hopefully everybody just goes for it instead of playing it safe.

Ricciardo is our first retirement at a little under half distance with a hydraulic issue.

Sainz is out thanks to a wheel not going on properly at his pit stop.

Bottas wins, Hamilton second, Vettel third. Vettel hangs onto the runner up spot in the championship.
Massa picks up a point in his last F1 race.
It's a shame that Vettel's challenge fell apart later on in the season.

Tomorrow is the F1 season finalie (which is also the last F1 race of the NBC era as F1 moves to ESPN-ABC next year) Also it might be then end of another era, the commentator team of Hobbs, Matchett and Dilfey might not make the move due to ESPN cheapness, according to these article, link link 2Hope it is not true.

One of the greatest racers in the history of drag racing. 10 Pro Stock World Championships. 5 in a row from 1985 to 1989. 85 National Event victories, only fourth to John Force, and two other legendary Pro Stock drivers, Warren Johnson and Greg Anderson, in the professional classes. His battles with the late Lee Shepherd in the Early 80's are what legends are made of. One of the greatest staging duels in history, right up there with Johnson/Geoffrion.
