Cena pulled it off well as he always does but the content was total garbage. I actually thought he didn't. And yeah, he usually does, 'specially with the usual Indy/Net darlings but AJ just delivered so many stingers: The Spoiler line, their history, the stuff about The Rock.. And Cena just goes "You just lost my respect and pissed me off!" Like. Alright? So he triggered you cause all that stuff stung and hurt and you know it's true? And then passion, passion, passion, awkward ending, says his name. Cenas gone toe to toe with Punk on the mic, I dunno if he's rusty but AJ just owned him. He got the crowd cheering him and people talking about how great a segment it was online, I'd say he pulled it off. You're right about what he said though. It was ridiculously lame, maybe one of Cena's weakest ever in terms of a 'big' promo.

Starts off slow, somber and builds it up usually in some passionate escalation. But as far as content goes? Man Styles just got so many shots in. And Cena..just didn't. Maybe it's the feud and the fact AJs beaten him thrice, so maybe Cena just doesn't know what to say that won't come off heelish.

Everything Styles said was true but in a heelish way. It was very well executed. Most of what Cena said was total bullshit. Generic insult that meant nothing, usual spiel about how much he loves WWE, then a huge whopper about how Styles only wrestles because he has to and not because he wants to. Cena pulled it off well as he always does but the content was total garbage. You're going to miss him when he goes away, that's all I'll say. Not sure what that has to do with anything. Even if I loved Cena it doesn't just change the fact that I thought that promo was shit. And Cena was gone for most of 2016 and I didn't miss him. In 2015 he had a great year in most people's opinions, but I didn't care for it. I can't deny his talent, his connection with the crowd and his hard work. He's had some great matches and some good promos over the years, no doubt. But overall I've never been a big fan of the guy. When Cena goes it will be sad in a way but there's not a chance I'll miss him.

9 - it was a great show but the American Alpha/Breezango squash match was a waste.

The Rock and Chris Jericho are my two favourites of all time and they've gotten plenty of hate, particularly over the last few years. Do I care? Not at all. I will defend them occasionally when I feel they're getting an unfair rap but that's it. I can't "convert" people into thinking the same way I do.

As far as Cena's response, he could have played into AJ's comments about wrestling in gyms and armories by firing back that he himself did everything he could to get to WWE as soon as he could and that Styles could have done the same given how how good he was.
"The fact is AJ you could have been in this company 15 years ago, everyone in the world knows you were good enough. But you didn't. Because you wanted to be a big fish in a small pond, you wanted to be the most talented guy outside WWE, because you knew damn well how hard it is to be that inside it. Because you didn't want to be tested against in the top company in the world until you were 100% certain that you wouldn't be run over by the people in that locker room. So you waited, and waited, and waited, until you had the absolute ideal spot for yourself. Well congrats man, you've shown up, won the title, and beat me three times. By all accounts you've made it.
The thing is though, for you? This is all about your confidence, your ego, your pride. You want to be the best in this business so you can tell yourself those 15 years weren't wasted, so you can say you made the right decision in not coming to the very top company as soon as you had an opportunity, because me? I ran to this company! I Jumped to it! Because it was my dream to walk down that aisle, wrestle in this WWE ring, and call myself a WWE superstar! And I cast aside all the doubts, apprehensions, and fears I had in my heart, because if I wasn't gonna make it here, I didn't deserve to make it anywhere.
That's who I am, son. I'm part time? You wanna call the surgery scars on my shoulder, part time? The replacements I got in my neck, part time? The fire I've got the for this company, part time?! You say SD doesn't need me, well look in my eyes, when I say this. I need SD. I need to be here, I need to be standing right here, competing in this ring because my heart, my soul, my passion are full time, no matter where my body is or how bad its doing! And at the end of the day that championship you got on your shoulder? That's an ego boost and status for you. For me, that title is life.
So yeah, against someone who's beaten him three times, its gonna be a hell of a phenomenal challenge. But there's a full time ass kicking coming your way, and at the Royal Rumble, John Cena gets his life back."

I just watched it and it was really enjoyable and I'd give it a 9.
I'm really liking Corbin and I thought AJ was great on the mic.
Cena was trash. Saying AJ has no passion for wrestling, I mean who the hell would actually believe that bullshit?
I skipped Nattie because I can't stand listening to her.
Also, you know what I love about SDL? They advertise matches and segments for the next week.
