It's a simple thing but I'm glad they're following the old "show don't tell" adage on Smackdown.
Orton stealing Harper's "run" promo sign-off was a great way to further that angle without having to waste an entire segment on it.
I guess that goes back to Raw's three hour problem. They would have had to book Orton and Harper as dysfunctional partners in an actual match just to fill time.

I agree 100% and would take it even a step further than you did. I think SDL has been pretty bad for the most part. Better than RAW, certainly, but RAW is so god awfully putrid that anything would look great in comparison. The fact is, there's this weird IWC fetish about making Smackdown better than RAW. I think it dates back to the fond memories everyone has of the "Smackdown 6" days. It was apparent that this obsession with Smackdown was real before the draft - when everyone was lobbying for Smackdown to get a better roster than RAW; immediately after the draft - when everyone was whining that Smackdown got shafted; and now ever since the draft - when on a weekly basis we constantly hear overhyping about the mediocre programming on Smackdown. It's really, really strange and I don't get it. People take every opportunity to lambast RAW but constantly gloss over poor creative work and lazy storytelling on Smackdown. WWE programming across the board is in one of its biggest creative lulls of all time, but the television programs are being carried by a select few elite performers (AJ, Miz, Jericho). Because maybe SmackDown really is that good?, there has been some dull episodes, mostly around the built towards TLC, and the fine people here has definally expressed that. But for the most part SDL has been on fire sence the second episode of the split (that first episode was much to desire). They have been great with their storyline and pacing. These last two episodes especially were fantastic What character development have you seen on Smackdown that's been better than Cesaro and Sheamus' storyline? How much more simple, effective storytelling can you ask for than Braun Strowman's slow ascension from jobber crusher to monster heel? The only thing SDL is doing better than RAW is the main event, and that's mainly because AJ is the best in the world right now. Between AJ and Miz, SDL has probably the two best performers in the entire company. They are two guys who can easily carry any segment they're involved in. Aside from that, I'm failing to see this great storytelling that I keep hearing about that is supposedly so much better than RAW
