You'd think in 25 years where games have become bigger, they'd have made another show like this and it'd have been bigger, but no. Only ever see a crappy review show pop up every couple of years.

I preferred Gamesworld on Sky, but 25 years ago? Good God.... Is that one with the Games Guru from the 2000s, or the SKY alternative to Games Master? If it's the former, I loved that one, last of a dying breed. Bad Influence was great too

If it's the former, I loved that one, last of a dying breed. Bad Influence was great too It was the Sky alternative in the early to mid 90s; if memory serves it originally had different themes on different days - Monday and Friday would be a gaming competition hosted by comedian Bob Mills, while the other days would be devoted to things like cheats, new releases, reviews etc. Instead of the Games Master you had the Games Mistress i.e. Jet from Gladiators dressed up in a naughty dress talking seductively about gaming! Happy times... It then became a competition, where contestants would be eliminated during the week until it was one contestant against various comedy characters who happened to be good at gaming. I wasn't into gaming at the time, but still watched purely for the entertainment value; Bob Mills used to slate the contestants to their faces - 'Not only did you lose, but you lost to a GIRL! Get of my stage NOW!' As I said, happy times...

The magazine's still going strong, they gave away a free DVD with the last episode once. Wish they'd have done more.

Dave Perry was also on Gamesworld later, but was a lot more laid back. However, if I'd seen the above clip at the time, I would have laughed hard as well. Thanks for the link, that was very interesting to read.

Best episode, always and forever, will be that "We're Athletic - We Like Lycra" special where they pitted John Regis and Tony Jarrett against each other on Sega's Athlete Kings.
Those two were just cracking up all the time and it makes for fantastic time.

There was another one called Me Mathers, an evil tycoon who's actually begun as a contestant on Gamesworld called Martin Mathers. In a nice twist, the last I heard about Martin Mathers, he was editing a wrestling magazine here in the UK.

Radion Automatic? Anyway, Big Boy Barry works for MadCatz these days. I remember seeing him last year on a video shilling the new Fightsticks they were putting out for Street Fighter V.

One of the segments involved stripping if you lost a challenge, one time they had to swap people becauase a woman was so bad she would have to had taken her underwear off if she lost again. Clearly it left an impression on 8 year old me.

Yep, Games World was better.
Jet was the Games Mistress, and I think David Walliams was the "Get Off My Manor! guy.
I still to this day think Big Boy Barry was awesome.
