This is one area I've really been slacking on. But I'm always striving on self improvement The plan right now is 10 percent into my savings account and 10 percent into my 403B (It's like a 401K, but for non-profit companies). The savings account is meant in part to go toward buying a home (eventually) and in-part for emergencies/retirement, while the 403B is pretty strictly for retirement.

I've yet to do a savings account anywhere, except for $300 being kept in a duffle bag next to my bed.

Usually 10 percent in the 401k, then try to put more back into my savings account monthly as well.

Pretty much none. I make just enough to get by and that's it.

10% of each pay into 401k and $75-150 of each paycheck into a separate bank account for vacation funding.

Nothing. I'm broke by the end of the month, every month.

I have two jobs. I put 10% in savings, and 10% in the Roth IRA. If I'm disabled or ill, I have enough to probably survive...two weeks. Three, if I cut out lunch. Yeah, I hate life.

Haha, sounds like me. Although I think I finally settled on March 2 to leave one job. I don't know though they always find a way of pulling me back in. I was going to leave August 1...2015!

I have about 3 months saved up in savings. I'd usually have more, but all excess money is going into a vacation fund for a trip this year. I am putting into my IRA as much as I can, though I'm switching to a 401K once I am eligible for one from my job.

It varies between 15-30% depending on whether there are any extra expenses during the course of any given month.

Whatever is left when I'm done paying bills or buying stuff.
I have money. It's fine.

What the f*** am I gonna do when I'm 85 other than have already have been dead for like thirty years? Look, I'm single. Who cares? If I had a family my philosophy might change drastically, but I don't. Pay the bills. Do and buy things.

Usually 50 bucks a pay period into my personal retirement fund and 30 into a retirement fund through work. Usually contribute into my tax free savings account when i feel i can put a decent amount away. I also max out my rsp contribution around this time of the year, so i can increase how much i can get back in income tax. Right now its about 27K between my personal and work pension and 20K in my TFSA. Yeah i still live with the folks but i'll be better prepared when i go to buy a house this year

I use mine to keep the money for rent separate from the rest of my money. It's not really a savings account.

When I get my paycheck I take what's left of my last one and put it in my savings account.

I think my wife and I each put 200 into our respective retirement accounts, then another 400 goes into our savings account at the bank.
All that stops as soon as we have to start paying for childcare. I'm frankly not sure how we are going to make it work.

I try to save a little bit a month even if it's just £50 or something. Hard to save much on my wages.
