What this show needs is just a few more ads. Definitely not enough ads! At this point, I really do hate Steven Singer. I think it's pretty remarkable that you can save with Conrad, just ask Frankie Kazarian, yes that Frankie Kazarian from AEW.

Conrad's shows were like this as well, but since Ad Free Shows started that has changed since I guess its easier to just copy ads in than to edit them out. If I remember correctly, they started doing it this way so Westwood One can do some type of dynamic ad sales. While the older shows srill have the old ads because they were usually read while they recorded the show, the new shows instead allow WO to treat the spots more like ads on a website: Ad space may only be sold for so many impressions/listens before it becomes available for others, ads may change based on different marketing campaigns or when you download the show, etc. For what it's worth, the audio that goes up on the YouTube channels usually doesn't include ad reads on new episodes since they put a ton of YouTube ads there. Since I have YouTube Premium, I usually just listen to new episodes through YouTube instead. That way they get paid from YouTube and I don't deal with the constant ads.

Maybe I'm just really ignorant, but if you're a couple of millionaires with a podcast that has a Patreon and WWO contract, do you really need THAT many ads in your show? It just seems really greedy and obscene after a certain amount. There are smaller podcasts (Lapsed Fan, Voices of Wrestling) that don't have nearly the amount of ads Conrad's shows do. And I'm sure he would say that they're in it to make money, which I also get. But, again, they have a contract, t-shirts, and a Patreon, so I would assume they're making enough money.

I'm glad the show is going in a different direction. I love 1986 NWA wrestling and I've been sooooo tired of the ECW shows they would do.

Tony will be able to provide some input, I think..... that along with the regular ball-busting will make for a great shows, IMO.

Tony is absolutely not a millionaire. He's spoken fairly freely about having had money troubles, including owing the IRS. Conrad is a millionaire, but he didn't get that way, nor will he stay that way, without hustling. The ads may be annoying, but it comes with hosting some of the absolute top-tier podcasts in the genre. Let them make that bread.

I think most people understand that, but it’s a f***ing obnoxious amount of ads that awkwardly interrupt the pacing of the show and they go on for way, way, way, way, way too long repeating the same 10 seconds worth of information.

Yeah, these are my biggest grips. The podcast resuming in mid-conversation after an ad sucks too. It's obvious the deal is to try and push everyone to Ad Free Shows. I don't know, it just feels scummy in a way. There are so many smaller podcasts who handle their ad situation much better. Heck, even a 'major' podcast like Comedy Bang Bang! has a few ads, but they're not obnoxious and do not ruin the show's pace.

So does Conrad, about 20 minutes worth sometimes and then there’s their “casual conversation” about something that’s clearly just an ad. Then, back to ads! Then 7 minutes of show and then an ad! It absolutely is to drive people to ad free shows but I’m not paying when the Skip and mute buttons are free. Or just stopping listening altogether because the only one I listen to regularly is STW and they ran out of interesting material there a long time ago.

Conrad's shows are better on YouTube. If there are any ads, my ad blocker gets rid of them, plus the versions with the ads are sometimes missing actual show content. That doesn't happen on YT.

Good call on this. I was just trying to listen normally to the podcast and they did 7 minutes worth of ads in a row and missed a match. So much better on YouTube.

Listening to the Starrcade 1998 episode, good grief Conrad is getting on my nerves. I would probably stop listening to this show if it wasn’t for Tony.

How has everyone liked the first three episodes of the year.... going back to 1986 JCP? I’m really enjoying it.

I wonder what they will do on the weeks of the Network skipped one. We will know soon, 2/1/86 is not on the Network, nor is the Superstars On The Superstation special.
They should "track" the Midnight Express squash matches, you never what gem Cornette might have.
