The Completionist has had February Theme Months.
In the past it was superhero month, sequels, the month of love, etc.
This year... Disappointing games month.
And well you can't spell Disappointing games without Sonic the Hedgehog.... well yes you can... but shut up... he's starting off with the early Wii title Sonic and the Secret Rings.

Ugh this game.
A HD remaster could do wonders for this, If they tighten the controls & Camera and drop the horrific RPG elements then Secret Rings could be a fun game.
f***ing Wii, I HATED the Wiimote and it ruined some games for me (Skyward Sword). I'd love to see re-releases of some of the games without the hideous motion controls
Oh and Sonic & The Black Night can burn in videogame hell

Yeah, I did not make it far with those shitty controls. The concept wasn't too bad, but it's such a bitch to play.

Yeah, Sonic's synonymous with letting people down from everything I've witnessed from franchise fans online. Unlike Mr. Doom above me, I never disliked the Wii's motion controls overall. I however did completely skip this game as Sonic titles in this period were kinda known for being stinkers.

The issue with Sonic/Sega/Sonic Team is when they are on to a good thing then just cock it up in future
- Sonic & The Secret rings - Good concept but duff controls/Camera & Unnecessary RPG elements, Instead of fixing em they just scrap it and make Sonic & The Black Knight
- Sonic Unleashed - Good daytime segments but the Werehog segments were atrocious & the daytime segments had bugs, Could have fixed the issues in a sequel & dropped the werehog but they didn't
- Sonic Generations - Probably Sonic's best received "Home Console" game since Sonic Adventure 2 all it needed was a bit of tightening in a sequel, Which never happened.
Sonic has had SO much potential since SA but for some reason Sega/Sonic Team never allow him to live up to it, While Mario had a bit of shit with "Sunshine" (Well reviewed but it's split among fans) they sorted it with Galaxy
They're like WWE when they on to a great angle but just cock it up *cough*Pipebomb*cough*

Damn I miss the wiimote, I found the split controller far more comfortable than a traditional one and miss the pointer controls.
(Wasn't quite as keen on the waggle)

To be honest, I've pretty much always had good luck in not pre-ordering or even getting hyped for games that ended up cancelled. For me, my list is pretty much Earthbound 64 (which never looked all that good from what I saw) and Half-Life on the Dreamcast (and that was just because I was late to getting a PS2, so I stuck around on the Dreamcast all the way to the end).
I remember a shitload of people that were unhappy about Starcraft; Ghost getting canned. I'd be shocked if they didn't find some way to work Ghost into Overwatch somehow, or at least some wink-and-a-nod skin for Widowmaker or Sombra (the stealth connection).
I used to not really know of the development conflicts Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts had back then. But even knowing those now it's hard for me not to consider N&B "Banjo-Threeie", regardless of the "not a true Banjo sequel" argument. That's like the people that talk as if Super Mario Sunshine (as much as I HATE that game) isn't a sequel to Super Mario 64.

As stated most of the Ghost stuff pretty much became a Starcraft 2 campaign.

That Star Fox 2 entry just made me think of Guru Larry's video f how Miyamoto screwed over people for his own ego. One of the entries was about Star Fox 2, and how it was suddenly canned (and it's developer screwed over) so that it wouldn't overshadow Star Fox 64

Bioshock 2!
I didn't find this massively disappointing but as Bioshock 1 was rather unique I suppose it works.
edit: listening to the review he keeps going on and on about hte Big Daddy being a mindless automaton and not a person... when one of the big things that Bioshock2 mentions is... uh... yeah the Big Daddies aren't robots.

Bioshock 2 may not be as good as the original, but it's still a good game, and gives you more insight into the big daddy and little sister dynamic and story. So a good continuation in my opinion.

Finished watching and he kinda agrees that it's a good game just not as good as Bioshock 1. Though he doesn't ever really mention the relationship thing.

Yeah, I can't disagree enough with this review. The combat is much better in 2, and the villain is vastly superior to the sneering Irish stereotype from the first one. The reviewer goes on and on about his dislike of protecting the little sisters as they harvest, but he neglects to mention you dont have to do that at all. You can harvest the little sister and get a commensurate amount of eve. I will say that a bit more variety in the settings would have been appreciated, but overall I find myself replaying 2 far more than 1.

Yeh its disappointing month alright Because i'm disappointed at YOU girard! Bioshock 1 protagonist is as empty as it gets, i really enjoyed bioshock 2 more than one and big part of it is playing as a loving Big Daddy

I thought Bioshock 2 was the more superior game

I thought the improved gameplay in Bioshock 2 more than made up for anything else that wasn't quite as good as the first.
