OK, I require advice.
Thanks to a friend, it has occurred to me my Disney collection needs some attention. I haven't seen a Disney movie in theaters since Up, haven't gotten a new one since Ratatouille. So, need to fix that. One rule - has to be new, sight unseen. Leaves us with six options I'm considering, want to par down to three since I have Dr. Strange at the end of the month and Monoa the week after that.
And yes, I already know which one everyone will scream for, but work with me.
Here are the options, in no particular order.
Wreck-It Ralph - I'm a video game lover, but dunno if there is enough meat here to really get me excited.
The Princess and the Frog - From the Aladdin team, this one just looks fun, but I'm worried I'll be left underwhelmed.
Inside Out - This one just fascinates me. Looks emotional enough to tug at the heartstrings while being fun enough to get my mind off the world.
Toy Story 3 - Yes, I have not seen it yet. Friends have raved in the past, but I kinda need to be sold, especially with Toy Story 4 coming.
Tangled - This feels like a Tarzan to me. A completely underrated not talked about movie that I would just fall for. But maybe my expectations are too high. Why I seek advice.
And finally, the iceberg in the room.
Frozen.
No, I have not seen it.
You may stop laughing now.
Seriously, you're hurting my feelings.
While I'm VERY aware of the song and I love Idina, for some reason, I just haven't taken the plunge yet. I WILL, but, maybe a good push will help.
So... advise me, oh wise ones.

Inside Out is easily the best Pixar film since Toy Story 3. You can't go wrong with either. However, Since Toy Story 4 isn't out anytime soon, watching 3 can wait a bit. So go with Inside Out. Of the rest, Tangled would get my vote. It's kind of been over-shadowed by Frozen but for my money, it's the better film.

If you are ok with waiting on Toy story 3, I would suggest Inside Out, Princess and the Frog, and Wreck it Ralph. I love all three of those so much.

Toy Story 3 Inside Out Tangled But there really isn't much between the first two. With the possible exception of The Incredibles, Inside Out is the best non-Toy Story Pixar film IMO (as well as being the best film of 2015). It's full of beautiful, emotional moments and is very, very funny. I won't spoil anything but it has that "one Pixar moment" where not only did I sob when I first watched it, I actually tear up just thinking about it. Then again, Toy Story 3 has more than one of those. But as you still have two years before part 4 comes out, you've got a bit of time with that one.

Be careful buying Disney movies can become additive, I once owned every Disney Animated Classic from Snow White to Princess and the Frog, Pixars too. I've seen all the new ones after I stopped collecting.
I would rate them.
1) Toy Story 3 (so much tears)
2) Wreck-It Ralph (great on a lot diffent levels)
3) Inside Out (probably Pixars best film in years)
4) Frozen (nothing to be ashamed of it's good)
5) Tangled (very similar to Frozen, just not as good.)
7) Princess and the Frog (haven't seen this one in years but I remember it just being okay.)

I own most of the big ones already, trying to fill in recent gaps. If ANY of these movies top the heart wrenching first ten minutes of Up, I'll be shocked. Up absolutely gutted me and to this day, can't think of those first ten minutes or discovering the secret of the journal and Dug hiding under the house without tearing up.

Inside Out is outstanding. That's my highest recommendation (if you haven't seen Wall-E). Both Inside Out and Toy Story 3 have wonderful stories that are able to get across some pretty heavy emotional topics via the restraints of being kid-friendly in a way that adults can appreciate and relate with. I'd give Wreck It Ralph the nod if you like the arcade game aesthetic it has. For me, I got a huge kick out of the cameos that kept popping up. Some of them are extremely subtle instances of characters just kind of existing in the background. It has a fun story, too.

The end still touchs me - I saw it with my now-ex, then fiancé after I got out of ICU coming within hours of dying and... the stuff between Wall-E and Eve cut close to the bone. Then again, we saw Up together, one of the last movie dates we had and while I'm bawling and thinking how it's what I dream of for her and me... she hated it. Seriously, she hated Up. It's why I took a Disney break for so long, just... hurt to go back.

None of those movies are bad by any stretch. My personal favorites were probably Inside Out, Frozen and Wreck It Ralph, though I would still recommend Princess and the Frog.
Frozen is unfortunately a victim of its own hype, which is a shame because it really is one of the best princess films they've ever made. But when something gets that massive in pop culture, there's sadly bound to be backlash because it's just everywhere. It really is worth your time, though.

They're all good choice in my opinion. But for me there's a reason Frozen is so popular. The one thing that Pixar have left out over the years is great music. Frozen is a call back to the classic Disney movies I grew up, with great songs, characters, and a great story, that brings Disney princess films into the 21st century. This is also the movie i'm most comfortable with my 2yo daughter watching.

Disney you say? Star Wars: The Force Awakens Captain America: The Winter Soldier Frozen I was going to say something similar to this. Essentially, it's no longer simple enough to say "Disney film." There are so many categories and such out there nowadays. Regarding the OP, I personally think Toy Story through Finding Dory aren't just "Disney films," and that Disney/Pixar films are sorta in a totally separate group from Frozen, Moana, etc.

Frozen is great.
Wreck It Ralph is fun.
Toy Story 3 if you like the first two. If you don't, it won't change your mind about the franchise or anything. It's just more of the same but sadder.

I've kinda been on the fence with the live action stuff. I am going to see Beauty and the Beast in March, but I haven't heard enough good or bad to sway me either way. Meanwhile, I placed an order today for two movies based on recommendations. I'll reveal titles and review when they arrive.

I'll throw in another recommendation for Princess And The Frog because it looks like the last classic 2D one we'll be getting for a while, and it's absolutely gorgeously animated. Plus, 'Friends On The Other Side' is up there with the best villain numbers in Disney.

Regarding the OP, I personally think Toy Story through Finding Dory aren't just "Disney films," and that Disney/Pixar films are sorta in a totally separate group from Frozen, Moana, etc. There's also a distinction to be made between the more experimental, less conventional Disney films like Wreck It Ralph/Lilo and Stich/Zootopia, and the more traditional minded, often princess focused Disney films like Moana and Tangled.
