Local roller skating rink. They announced that they were doing the limbo contest. Those who wanted to play lined up. After about 2 rounds, a lovely young lady who was behind me in line casually mentions that "It's not fair that the little kids always win."

We started chatting while waiting. After the contest (her younger brother won) I sat to relax for a few and a different girl skates up to me telling me that her sister would like to couple skate. She pointed her out and it was the girl behind me in line. I agreed and the rest is history.

Up until about midnight last night I was going to be taking my girlfriend to Disneyland for the day. Had dinner reservations to a nice restaurant there...not happening anymore, because I'm with someone who would rather lay on her couch all day. I was also reminded that I put way too much effort into days like this, after I gave her some gifts, including some Haunted Mansion art, that was a reveal of where we were going to be spending the day(it was a surprise)....and I was given a box of Reese's. I have always preferred giving over receiving, but shit, just a little effort here and there would be nice. I'll probably just head home soon, because if she doesn't give a shit about Valentines Day, I shouldn't either. Guess this was just a venting post ha, I hope everyone else enjoys their day!

Quick Valentines Day story: My wife and I went on our first date shortly before Valentine's Day 11 years ago. On Valentines Day I brought her flowers at work. When I asked for Erin, I didn't know her last name yet, and the guy I asked brought be to a different Erin. I stood there looking like an idiot, saying "wrong Erin" until the guy (who went to school with my wife!) came and rescued me from my embarrassment and brought me to my wife.
