As others have said, gameplay peak of the series, story valley of the series. Which is why I prefer Ground Zeroes, more or less the same amount of content in a more dense package.
Also, I recommend Super Bunnyhops reviews to anyone who hasn't seen it;

Gameplay wise it is a masterpiece. But it's not finished and that's some bullshit right there.

My biggest fault with the game was the open world aspect to be honest.
There was only so many times I could sneak into the airfield and be entertained. Plus once I'd sneaked into a place once for say a side mission, I knew the guards, cameras etc positions it if the same location cropped up in the main story which made it to easy and took some of the fun away.

So, not meaning to phantom bump this topic, but I got the game at a Christmas sale for $4.
I'm liking it so far, but it feels forever to get into the meat of the story. I'm okay with exposition, but spending a whole hour leading up to Venom crawling on the floor felt a bit ridiculous.
Well, I'm on Episode V.
Should I get Ground Zeroes? They pretty much tell the whole story here, but if I can buy it at a discount, will I have fun?

Just got the game a few weeks ago, just started chapter 2 today. I really like it. Gameplay wise it's fantastic, but the barebones story makes it not feel like a metal gear game. I can tell I'm gonna have a lot of fun in the post-game.

Personally, Ground Zeroes is a hard game to recommend because you're not getting much more from it story-wise that you don't get in Phantom Pain. As something clearly meant to be a demo, it's a fun couple of hours, but yeah, you'll get what's going on without it (well, you might not for different reasons, but hey).
