In the recent PR release Jarrett mentioned wanting to sign guys from a big database he had compiled. Then some guys may need to get cut, leave, or just suck. So what does an ideal roster for TNA look like 2017 under Jarrett's creative direction? Let's break it up into main eventers, midcarders, jobbers, tag teams, women, and non-wrestlers. Try to keep it light on the snark in this thread...please

Well, Jarrett will likely bring in his crew, so Magnus, Sonjay Dutt, Kongo Kong, & Cody Something will be in the fold.
I also see them likely cutting Mahabali Shera as they aren't going to India. Without a tour of the UK, either, you don't need a Grado.

Their champion is Grado.

Sign Alberto Del Rio and reap the rewards when Paige is released from WWE.
Could do another husband and wife vs husband and wife feud for the 5th time this year.

Heck, at least that was a plus from the fires last year- there's just enough people who were ruined as WWE main event players, but had the potential to be solid main event workers for TNA. Not just Del Rio, but if they can get Wade Barrett to go back into the sport (more unlikely now due to losing their UK deal, but not impossible), that'd add another bankable heel performer. Likewise, Ryback Reeves could give TNA the top-tier babyface they'd need to not have to roll the dice on Eddie Edwards (and in that place in their heart a lot of fans don't want to talk about at parties, we kind of know...Lashley vs. Ryback would be a really interesting match and feud.)

If I'm TNA, I take a hard look at more Carolina boys so Anthony Henry, Jason Cade, Chip Day, and the Bravados, Could still also get some good guys from the Northeast that aren't under contract anywhere

I'd like Jimmy Race to get signed somewhere with a TV deal, he has gone from bottom of the barrel to cleaning his life up and being one of the best veterans on the Indy scene. He deserves better, but TNA is a step in the right direction if they can handle him properly.

But I don't want to see Mike "I'm Not El Cokehead Del Knife Fight" Bennett and Trophy Wife...I mean Arm Candy...Damn it I mean Maria vs El Cokehead Del Knife Fight & Yayo...Sorry I mean Addict...Man I am off tonight, I mean Paige on any show...Even if it has an owl

Take Pope off the commentary and either put him back in the ring or make him a manager for a tag team or stable. Would work great as a hype guy.

Those guys are going to want big money for signing up. Besides, Barrett left WWE on good terms because he wanted a break from wrestling (didn't he start in a recent WWE movie?) I don't see him making a comeback to that dumpster fire.

I don't see him making a comeback to that dumpster fire. Of course- but that's also the problem- the exodus going on has made the TNA roster almost a Schroedinger's roster. Anyone who makes a lot of money wouldn't go there, but anyone who DOESN'T make much money and is up and coming wouldn't either. TNA hasn't managed to get past the last couple years- where their only blue-chip ability to get top talents was "find indy workers who are a package deal and eat the no-talent half of the couple to get the really good half"...and it seems to be worse now, since it really has gone to "WWE can have whoever they want, and anyone who is upwardly mobile enough to get to WWE will just go to EVOLVE anyway...hell, even local Florida shindy workers would pick WWE for the chance to job in NXT instead of locking in with TNA." Really, the contract issues TNA has is worse now, since it's not even "TNA gives bad contracts", but rather "TNA HAS CONTRACTS, PERIOD". The only way TNA could get an ideal roster, realistically, is to sign everyone from taping to taping, with the agreement if WWE shows interest, their contract is null and void (but TNA can still show the footage in the can for that taping), the way ROH had allegedly planned to do when NXT began. It'd be a fool's game, but the only way TNA can get pretty much anyone of value to come in, even if just to rehabilitate their image and make WWE interested in them just to screw over TNA.

Right now, I feel like they could probably sign Vacant and the Midth.
