That kid was creating a damn Death Note Off-topic, but I randomly started watching that on Netflix the other night and I'm hooked! Got an apple?

No no wait
He had a list. Was he actually going to do anything? Or was he just doing Jericho's schtick trying to get attention because he's a 14 year old pro wrestling fan that probably gets picked on a lot?

Great. Next thing we'll hear is some fundamentalist sect calling for a boycott of Legos as "they're playthings of demons."

I had a kill list back in school.
Thing is, mine wasn't physical and was a complete joke. The hook was that you could suddenly find yourself on it for the most minor offense.
Had I ever jotted it down though I'd 100% have been at least suspended, even with confessions from the "marked" that it was in fact a stupid, innocent thing.
Kinda have to take intent to kill seriously.

I was in school in the 90s and high school in the early 2000s. I didn't know one high school in our area that didn't have some dolt make a "Hit List" of people he (ALWAYS a he) wanted to kill. You would have to have been born yesterday to think this is inspired by WWE or Jericho. Hit lists have been around for decades. Right there with you, brother. Hell, me and my friends were even on one supposedly. This is nothing new. However, there were times when Zero Tolerance went way too far. This is almost a verbatim conversation from high school around 99-2000: Kid 1: I am dominating on Madden. Kid 2: You couldn't beat me, I play that game non stop. Kid 1: Dude, I would kill you on Madden. Teacher: Both of you to the office! Now these were two friends literally talking about their skill level on a video game. There is no way to misinterpret it. But that totally happened.

Aaaaaand Jericho stole the 'List' gimmick from Steve Buscemi, from a joke he made in Adam Sandler's movie wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in 1995 "Billy Madison":
The big difference, the original was actually a KILL LIST. Jericho's parody is just a 'gonna get.... IT' list that is largely comical for anyone with an ounce of humor. Come on parents, stop trying to find scapegoats for failure.

The article claims that Jericho was the inspiration and the Sheriff's report says it is. Did the kid say it was? His parents? Kill lists like this have been around schools forever. Long before Jericho started "The list."
I doubt the kid went around comically yelling "YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!" to the people he wanted to "kill."
