I never liked it, but I hope Reality Bites eventually gets taken down a peg. Product of the times, but I hated everyone in that movie.

Pains me to say it but Jim Carrey movies. Same reason - probably outgrew it. Well, the only ones that I could probably still watch are the first Ace Ventura movie (Which had some gags that really flew over my head as a child and some parts still crack me up), The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. I have never seen The Cable Guy all the way through, but from what I have seen, that film is rather dark. I don't think I could sit through Ace Ventura 2 like I did when I was younger. Anyway, when we had the Miguel Ferrer thread in the wake of his death, someone had mentioned Blank Check and I started to think that the film does not hold up. One part of the writing that pissed me off was how the parents were portrayed, like how they gave their son crap for having his bike crushed, WHEN HE WAS NEARLY RUN OVER BY SOMEONE IN A FREAKING CAR! You would think that they would be more than happy that he was still alive, but no, they punished him for not taking care of his belongings. Another example is Camp Nowhere. After listening to the We Hate Movies podcast episode on that, it really made me see how it was a product of the times. Look at the fashions of the kids in that movie. It really does not hold up. I should know after actually watching it around that same time.

Well The Nostalgia Chick buried the film six feet deep as she rightfully pointed out how a film featuring a group whinny spoiled shits who act like total c***s towards everyone because they are resentful and bored at life because they faced few challenges growing up is downright insulting to anyone having to deal with the aftermath of the 2008 recession.

Some of these came out around 2000, but I use to love these dark thought provoking movies when I was in highschool, but now I can't sit through more then a half hour before turning them off...
Donnie Darko Fight Club 12 Monkeys Requiem for a Dream Memento The Crow Fear and Loathing
Some I would still call great films, some haven't aged well at all, either way I just can't watch them anymore.

Fight Club is the only one that springs to mind.

Anybody remember the Spawn movie. Back then I thought it was awesome, now cheesy bad. Ugh, I thought it was bad even as a kid. The cape and motorcycle scenes are horrible effects.

Aladdin.
Back when I was younger this movie could do no wrong. Now that I'm older the flaws are a lot more obvious.
I think Robin Williams carried that film with his role as the Genie, without him I don't think the movie would have been as memorable.
I still think it's alright mind you and still prefer it to the Lion King.

Out of curiosity which would you say is still great and which haven't aged well? I liked all the ones I've seen from that list except maybe Donnie Darko. I haven't watched any in years though except Requiem fora Dream, which I think is still good. I was going to watch Fear and Loathing, but it expired on Hulu.

None. Still love them all. I know they're not masterpieces but I love them.

Mallrats, and Pulp Fiction. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I don't wanna watch them anymore.

Watched Happy Gilmore when I was flying to Vancouver last year and aside from the Bob Barker fight I didn't find to be anywhere near as funny as I did when I was 15.

I like the same stuff. Television on the other hand, I've changed my stance on a lot.

Okay, I found a movie that came out in the 1990's that I actually used to like. It is called Thicker Than Water. Here is the trailer for those who are unfamiliar with it: It was a movie that I really liked when I was 14. Granted it was 2000 when I first saw it on Showtime, but it still counts as a 1990's film as it was released in 1999. I wrote a review for it on my blog. Click here to read it.

Surprisingly, I tend to defend Ace Ventura 2 far more than first one, simply because throwing him in the jungle with fictional tribal stuff allowed us to completely and utterly drop the premise of reality and focus on the gags. My stepdad, before his Alzheimer's set in, for whatever reason, thought it was the funniest thing ever. Sure, it's pretty daft, but I didn't go into it expecting Voltaire.
Last Action Hero comes to mind. I thought it was a blast as a kid, but upon watching it recently, I can say that I have no idea who it was trying to appeal to. It was too meta, too "wink at the audience," and just utterly chaotic.

Like I said it's been a long time for a lot of these but off the top of my head. Great film but aged poorly: Fight Club 12 Monkeys Requiem Memento Crap film but didn't know better at the time: The Crow Donnie Darko Fear and Loathing

Don't hate me but I used to love the Police Acadamy movies when I was younger. But I tried watching Mission to Moscow last week and had to tap out after half an hour, it was absolute drivel. The first 4 still hold up, Guttenberg held that franchise together. Once Guttenberg left, they couldn't find anybody to replace him. Hightower, Jones, and Tack still had their funny moments, but without Guttenberg the franchise went downhill quickly.

Sure, choose the worst one out of the series to watch. Plus that was a straight to video release I believe, but could be wrong. Give the earlier ones a shot, they are much better. On topic, I still like everything I did. TV is where I have changed. Except for the cartoons I used to watch, can still watch those.
