I use the rule of three. Two for the shower and one hand towel.

It's a sore spot in our house. The answer is usally 0. As soon as anybody uses one at anytime, my wife says it's dirty and puts it in the laundry. But then never puts out a new one. drives me nuts.

Hand towel, wife's towel and my towel hang on the racks in the bathroom.
Our three kids shower every other day so their towels get run through the dryer and sit folded in the laundry room until they need them.

I use the rule of three. Two for the shower and one hand towel. Ours is simliar. One towel over the shower rod, one on the towel holder, small handtowel on the other holder. |

2 hand towels, 2 bath towels and a shower mat (which is actually a towel but I don't know if that counts or not).

2. My towel hangs on the rack and a towel that thinned out is our mostly decorative guest/hand towel.
The kids use a towel, it's filthy. That's why I have two loads of laundry to do: one is clothes, the other are towels.

Towels are one of those things that seem to turn into petty fights in my house so everyone has their own. So 6 bath towels and maybe 2 hand towels.

one because I store the towels in a different part of the apartment and my towel ring will only fit one. I also keep a hand towel, but just one of each.

9 big towels and 15 hand towels because you can never be too safe.

I'm a massage therapist so my towel count on a regular day is quite skewed. On any given day, I have 3 or so people, 2+ towels each. If they have feet or neck issues, 2 more. If they book a facial, 6 more. And if there's a body scrub scheduled? 4 more. So, if you wanna know where all your towels went, I took them. Sorry.
In normal life, 3 towels- a hand towel, a bath towel, and a guest/utility towel.

1 for drying hands. All my towels are in a closet next to the bathroom and I just take one with me when I take a shower.
