So, how much technology does Equestria actually have? We do know that movies exist as does recorded music, but i dont recall seeing television, cell phones, computers, cars, or planes, at least in the episodes i've seen.

Cars and planes don't seem to be needed when a third of your population can fly.

Basically, I think the answer is "however much is appropriate at the time"...given one minute we'll see classic style record players, the next all of Vinyl Scratch/DJ Pon-3's mixers and such.

Speaking of which with Lionsgate also producing the MLP movie, I wonder which bit of product placement will prominently feature into the MLP Movie story line?

For example Red Lobster would work well with the film's nautical undertones.

But they do have trains. Unfortunately, they don't have the Flying Scotsman Express. Would be much quicker to travel to Canterlot and the Crystal Empire.
