Final score for All Bottled Up is 8/10.
Fun character outing, with the B plot working well to contrast the antics of the A plot. Song was nothing to write home about, but did work as an affectionate parody of MLP musical numbers and it costing them the record was amusing. While Trixie grated at times, the episode did call her out on it, and allowed for a good development between her and Starlight.
Overall a nice low key opening to the season, wisely choosing to do some character stuff rather than a dubious attempt at an adventure story which is what hurt the Crystalling's potential.

That was a good start to the season. Will rewatch, but thinking 8 for the first episode and 9 for the second.

I'll give it an 8. The two parts kind of feel like they're barely even related which is a bit of a problem, but they're both individually fun and in particular Trixie and Celestia are great in this one.
One thing I'm kind of torn on though was how there were all kinds of references to previous episodes, but they were mostly the previous season and they messed up and forgot the other Mane Six members weren't all friends before Twilight showed up.

That did seem like a bit of a retcon. While the mane five seemed aware of each other they didn't seem to be much indication they were friends prior to the pilot. Heck even RD and Fluttershy seemed to have not been that close despite knowing each other longer than anyone else. |

But yeah, I do think this whole Glimmer student thing has potential.
I do kinda hope eventually she will move away and extend her group of friends..
