Out of curiosity, given the news of only five songs this season, I checked the MLP Wiki and checked the song numbers for each season:
Season 1: 16 songs
Season 2: 15 songs
Season 3: 12 songs
Season 4: 17 songs
Season 5: 16 songs
Season 6: 12 songs
Season 7: 5 songs
-Interesting to note that Season 6 had as many songs as Season 3 despite having twice the size of that season.
-5 songs is definitely a sharp drop, considering what we usually get in a season.
