Final score for Rock Solid Friendship... is 9/10.
I admit my full bias when it comes to Maud, but this was a hilarious and entertaining character episode. Insight into her, Pinkie, and Starlight, with some funny faces, and great one liners to boot. While disappointing to not have Marble or Limestone get any lines, and Pinkie grated in the second act, everything worked so well.
In general I love that Starlight's bonding with the peripheral characters like Maud and Trixie. None of them are outright friends to the Mane Six (though obviously Twilight's close to Glimmer and Pinkie with her sister, but now have potential friendships with each other that creates a different dynamic that still feels in character. Its a weird thing to say, but Starlight's really shining in episodes outside the Mane Six interaction.

Oh, right, something that is really starting to annoy me about the season actually. We're four episodes in and haven't had a silly Rainbow Dash face. Rectify that.

It does feel like Starlight is slowly but surely building up her own little group.
Trixie and Maud.. Be interesting to see who else they get.
I know it's only 4 episodes in, but Season 7 already feels like an improvement over 6.

We'll kind of need to see on that one since really besides season one, and maybe season three though it's so short it's kind of hard to form an opinion, the first half of the season tends to be better than the second half.

Season 7's helped that it started effectively with a solid combo of good character episodes with Celestial Advice and All Bottled Up, rather than the tonal disaster that was the Crystalling.

"Rock Solid Friendship"...gets an 8/10 from me.
Pros:
-Maud Pie was really great in this episode, not only for her usual character but actually going deeper with it. Subtle annoyance at her sister, genuine bonding with Starlight Glimmer and also getting an insight that its hard for her making friends and how she bases her relocation wish on having somepony to connect with. Really fleshes out her character and made it even more 3-dimensional. -As mentioned before, her budding friendship with Starlight was the highlight of this episode. From how they first met by Maud accidentally helping Starlight create Equal Town to their reactions to Pinkie's antics and their final bonding over them both flying kites. It really felt like a genuine friendship forming and I liked it very much. -Loved seeing Gasleak Gorge again which we have not seen since Season 2 including the Quarry Eels. -Also enjoyed the various appearances by other characters like Rarity, Spike, Lyra & Derpy. Really made the episode more lively. -The episode had a pretty good pace again and nothing felt to be overly long. The humor was also mostly enjoyable. And loved that the new-found space became Maud's new home eventually.
Cons:
-Yeah, have to go against the majority opinion again. I found Pinkie mostly annoying despite a few funny moments here and there. Especially since she basically caused Maud to turn her back on Ponyville and go to Gasleak Gorge in the first place. I acknowledge that she apologized in the end, but I felt that the episode would have been better focusing on Starlight/Maud and having Maud go to Gasleak Gorge because of a misunderstanding with Maud instead. It would have made for a stronger episode in my opinion.
But "Rock Solid Friendship" still gets a good 8/10 from me.

There is one thing that annoys me about this more than anything (even more than the leak in general)... I was really looking forward watching an episode live with Alyce: Old Media Enthusiast when I visit her at the beginning of June. I would not have minded watching a "leaked" episode with her as long as its the first time for both of us. But looking at Treehouse's pace, they will have the Pre-Season Break episodes all done before I come to Canada...meaning that all I can see with Alyce: Old Media Enthusiast are episodes she has already seen.

It seems odd that they're doing this, but Treehouse has always been inconsistent.

Well, at least they are not censoring any words anymore...or do they still do this?
