Kind of a meh ending and last two-three episodes felt like they were running on fumes
All things considered it was still a good season that came in with a lot of expectation
I wonder if they will switch up next season as far as Evil Morty being the primary "villain" for next season

Anybody else feel like Rick is getting too powerful to the point it's getting boring? Like, for as much as the end of last season and the beginning of this one seemed to be suggesting he'd finally gotten in over his head, at the end of the season it honestly feels like there are no stakes. There was never any doubt Rick wasn't going to kill every Secret Service dude in the room, for example.
I'm cranky about that because I feel like in a sense it kind of still enables the wannabe nihilists that make up most of the toxic side of the R&M fandom, no matter how many times Harmon calls them out.

I think next season the council/evil Morty seriously brings him down to earth. Would've preferred to see the new character branches extend, but next season better have a damp good jerry moment. I'm sick of the dumb dad archetype personally, when even Homer manages to knock one out the park every now and then.

As good as this season was, there's no doubt they dropped the ball with Jerry and Summer. I felt like anytime they gave Jerry screen time this season he stole the show and Summer seemed to be geared to get into more adventures but only got 2 episodes focused around her and only one of those included Rick, Morty and her I think they will ground Rick a little more and I guess they had him still tag along with the family as a way of showing he cares because Rick got chewed out a lot this season but they never really gave a clear indicator of what's driving him at the end

I think the thing this season was we didn't get that Rick has a break down moment like we got in previous seasons. Obviously they wanted to go the dark route and when it shined, it shined bright. This was really a season for Morty to shine but yea I expect them to bring Rick down to level a little bit next season How they do that though I have no clue. You had him take down the government, kill the council of Ricks, still be a badass as a pickle, etc.... hopefully, that's where Evil Morty becomes a major threat

The only character that had any real progression for the better this season was Morty. I'm actually glad they shown being more competent, hanging on his own against Rick, getting more sociopathic, having a Morty elected for the Citadel, more quick witted, and even last episode finally acknowledging they are kind of big deals on how many times they save the universe. It's funny how Burst mentioned Harmon calling out the toxic nihilistic fanbase of the show but yet wrote in last weeks episode of Rick delivering a "I'm very smart and tortured for being very smart" facebook style speech that serves nothing but to make people who think they are smart to make themselves feel smarter. But I agree they made Rick way too powerful and too cool this season that just increased the amount of "The Real Ricks" facebook pages and memes. Like escaping The Citadel I get to advance the season forward. Pickle Rickle I get since it's a creative animation episode. The Vindicators okay a Saw inspired parody episode where Rick is so amazing he can set up these traps blackout drunk to prove a point or something with no repercussions in the end? Who is writing this character at this point? Even Triple H during his Reign of Terror days would be like nah that's just way too powerful and narcissistic. Hoping Season 4 has more episodes because 10 episodes per season while waiting for two years sets up way too high of expectations and disappointment. Also more Citadel episodes pls.

and just like that we got to wait another year an a half All in all Solid season. Perhaps got a little to dark at times. I do like Morty takes a lot less shit from Rick now. Is it my favourite season?.. Honestly not really, I think Season 2 was better but this was still good. If anything I would say less Rick clones etc in season 4, more memorable characters like Mr Meeseeks and Mr Poopy Butthole etc (Even if he did appear right at the end..) None the less, still love this show

I mentioned this after Froopy Land, where Beth & Jerry have had zero development since the series began. Jerry is the wuss who makes everyone feel sorry for him because he's so pathetic, and Beth is an arrogant asshole without the redeeming factors of Rick.

Hoping Season 4 has more episodes because 10 episodes per season while waiting for two years sets up way too high of expectations and disappointment. Also more Citadel episodes pls. What I was talking about earlier speaks to this as well. I hope they change the format a bit in regards to the episodes because it seemed the last 3 episodes they were running on fumes after the wild start and crazy shit they got into I would to like to see a more "structured" storyline as I believe at this point they can pull it off while still maintaining the crazy nature that drives the show. As you said Morty was really the only one who got major development and while they did sort of dive into it this season I would like to see adventures with just Morty and Summer ,Rick and Jerry, Summer and Beth etc... Switch up the formula a bit. Have Morty and Summer get into some crazy shit while Rick has a more "grounded episode" that we all know will still have its shenanigans regardless. They have the liberty to take more chances and can step away from Rick sort of in regards to he can be the "B story" for an episode or two while you focus on others.

For a moment, I thought the season was going to both begin and end with Rick destabilizing the ruling government.

We need more episodes with Morty and Summer at school and Rick being used like Doraemon.
Morty & Summer have a teenager problem and Rick creates something to help them in the most Ricky way possible
