variety.com/2017/film/news/shia-labeouf-man-down-box-office-1202022472/As an aside, I think he's really talented and throughout all the shit he's been through, he seems to have sobered up and maybe he's onto better things personally and I'm happy for him in that respect. I hope he can come back and I would love to see him do comedy, he was great on Even Stevens as a kid

I had a feeling when I clicked on the story there would be some sort of catch, like it was released in a grand total of one theater worldwide

See, when I read stories about this, I'm always amazed mostly because the movies that are mentioned (The other one had Emma Watson in it, making £47 in the box office) seem to have the worst advertising budgets known to man because you hear literally nothing about them until these stories come up and it's staggering because you'd think it would have appeared somewhere. Even a small ad in an obscure paper.
Now, something like 100 Streets (which had Idris Elba and Gemma Anterton in it) was pretty much advertised everywhere when the posters were up and THAT somehow drew £245, that stuff always amazes me.

Saw this gif recently and just had to add it. I wonder why they even bothered to run it in that one theater? Simultaneous release with the VoD release isn't really going to draw a crowd. I dunno. LaBeouf's redeemed himself acting-wise for me since his TF days. Fury, Lawless, American Honey. The guy definitely goes all-in when he performs.

It was released in one cinema which is what they usually do for straight to DVD films, I believe they do this so they can be considered for awards.
Even the WWE studio films get a "limited" theatrical release.

Like in Fury, how he decided to not bathe for the entirety of filming, despite his cast mates repeatedly asking him to. There's method, and there's dickish method.

Sure, I mean personally I have no clue about the guy, but the performances he puts up on the screen when I've watched his recent films have been very entertaining and well fleshed out. Part of me thinks that it's better he's a bit of a wildcard or whatever. Keeps him off big-budget, drab, Hollywood flicks and on more interesting roles.

I think so they can sell DVD's at Walmart or other retailers? Like I remember when WWE Movies would only have like 2 or 3 screenings for one day so they can sell there movies at Walmart. Yeah it's not like they made his stench a part of the film. Like I understand dickish method acting behavior if it's the only way to get an authentic reaction from the actor if it's been too many takes not getting the reaction you wanted. And if you need to do that to act maybe you should go to "Harrison Ford's acting school of play pretend and make believe."

So, for a little clarity, here's another news story about this...The one ticket was for the movie's release in the UK, and previously the movie had been released in the US (back in December) where it made around $450,000.

To a certain extent, I associate Shia LaBeouf with the downfall of my childhood. I loved Transformers and Indiana Jones as a kid, and his appearance in both franchises was the death knoll for them both.
Granted, they weren't good films, but that's neither here nor there.
