Too many people have said similar things about JBL for it not to be true. Pretty much. At this point, I'm no longer on "benefit of the doubt" status with JBL. Enough people have shared stories about him being an evil douchebag for me to say there's anything redeemable there.

F*** JBL, no wonder why he was always on Taker's good side. One of the very few guys in that company he would have not screwed with.

The Benoit stories always come across as ominous. This guy had issues long before he snapped.

JBL is Blackjack Lanza's (a long time stooge for Mcmahon) nephew. That explains some of why JBL gets away with what he does. Vince is automatically soft to people who are legacies in the business. See also, Randy Orton.

how do you tap out while in a double crossface? pretty easily, your head is only locked, you can move your hands one arm is trapped between benoit's legs during the crossface, though. surely in a crossface applied by two men, both arms are trapped.

If this was 20 years ago, Justin Roberts would have suffered a lot worse. And? Period.

Cathartic And I'm gonna repeat this every time it comes up: Vince Russo's only true heroic moment in the wrestling business is booking this tournament strictly because he heard JBL bragging about how tough he was, and booked an entire tournament to engineer this situation.

Why is everyone so afraid to stand up to JBL? I can't figure that out.

Why is everyone so afraid to stand up to JBL? I can't figure that out. He's one of Vince's favourites.

Why is everyone so afraid to stand up to JBL? I can't figure that out. In essence, he's got "tenure". Vince loves the guy for unfathomable reasons, and he's been around for so long that at this point, he's gonna leave when HE wants to, not on account of being fired. So for a young guy, the option is "Step to a guy the boss loves and risk getting fired for it, or just shut up and be miserable".

Why is everyone so afraid to stand up to JBL? I can't figure that out. Probably a combination of him being a tough guy who was also in tight with even tougher guys.

Whenever anyone stands up to JBL, he gets popped. Call his bluff and you'll have his ass. You never hear stories of him facing up to anyone and coming out of it as a winner. He specialises in sneak attacks and cheap shots. I'd rather punch the shitberg in the face and get fired rather than suffer prolonged bullying all for the sake of keeping my job, which may be a shitty spot anyway.

What's your point exactly? Just because that's the case doesn't mean we shouldn't call this abuse out and say it's wrong now.

However JBL, Benoit, Holly, and others were from a generation where this sort of thing was second nature. You have to naive to think that this shit didn't happen in the 80s and 90s. Hell, X-Pac used to shit in Rock's sandwiches back in the day. Of course this behavior is carrying over and will do so when all the old timers leave. I agree that it is wrong and has no place for it today, I was just explaining where it was coming from.

How long was Justin Roberts with the company? Legitimately shocked to read an interaction with Benoit.
