I could imagine what they will try to do with only two more movies after this one.

It's time to bring in the Universal monsters with a drag racing Dracula & this touching scene between Vin Diesel and Frankenstein's Monster "I know fire is bad, but you're family now, and family belong together"

If time travel or alternate universes were used, i'd want Dom to team up with Riddick. The Fast and the Furyan? I hear alternate universe and Fast and the Furious and I think crossover with Pixar's Cars.

A Smokey and the Bandit remake with Vin Diesel in the Bandit role and Burt Reynolds as the Cop. The Rock can be Jerry Reed's character and Letty can be Sally Field's character. Ashton Kutcher as Junior.

The funny thing that always gets me about this franchise isn't the movies themselves, but rather the whiners who have various complaints. The main ones that I hear are how the series should have stopped a long time ago. The others about how the series had evolved from street-racing to being a series about government agents stopping threats. Also, I hear people say how this series is dead even though it is very much alive. Anyway, regarding the first argument, I have heard people say that Furious 7 should have ended the series and in some ways I can agree because it gave Paul Walker a good sendoff. However I also hear people say how it should have ended after the first or second films, as if the first film was supposed to a standalone film and never should have been a franchise. Of course, there are some people who say that the first was bad enough and that is a different argument.
Also, the part about how the series was about street-racing, I really don't think so. That's like saying that Point Break was about surfing. Both films had those elements in them, but they weren't essential to the plot. The second film had racing, but it was more of a buddy action film with some racing and car chases in them. Only Tokyo Drift really had racing as part of the plot, but it mainly felt like a Karate Kid knock-off with racing instead of martial arts (I could also point out how the first Never Back Down movie had a similar plot to Tokyo Drift). I could go on.
Of course, I am looking forward to the new film and I am marathoning the other films in preparation. I also plan to write a review for my column about it. While in some areas I feel that it should have ended, I know that I am going to see the ninth and tenth films when they come out.
