Yes and I want to see a world champion retain using a full nelson slam finisher.

"seeing Rome burn" and seeing (most) smarks rage...that's as stupid and spoiled as hardcore wrestling fandom can become
Also, learn your history. See the massive booking mistakes old powerhouses like AWA or WCW made and what they led to...

Yes, Jinder is just like herpes. You got me there. Never made that connection. Just used it as an example to explain why your reasoning didn't work. Not really an apt comparison though because other people have had herpes and can tell you it's bad. We've never had Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion, it'd be a totally new experience.

Here's where I stand on this;
If you spend time building Jinder Mahal for a potential upper midcard feud with a guy, give him promo time, give him a solid character, bring in the Bollywood Boyz earlier, give him some feuds with people he'll get booed against, cheating to win in some cases, give him a run from that with the IC/US belt and then lead him to a shot with Orton, I'd be happy with him being a contender. I might not be a FAN of his work but I'd respect the fact they'd put the time in to make him work.
The problem right now is that there's nothing to Mahal. He's shown up sometimes, ranted at people for things, lost the majority of his matches (whether it's 2 or 9 wins in the space of a year, NEITHER number is impressive enough to even get you a European title contender match, never mind a world title shot) and has started showing a character AFTER winning a title shot, not before. I know, WWE doesn't have to develop anyone because that's not their model anymore, but even Maven was gradually built up to a big title match with HHH in the early 00s and that match was on RAW!
If you want to build new talent, awesome, I applaud you for that after so long of not being arsed to do so when the opportunities were there with much more talented people. But could you at least have the courtesy of acting like you give a damn about the talent you're building? Because it doesn't seem to me you care about Jinder at all as much as you picked someone from a hat Sunday night and went with it.
So no, I wouldn't like Jinder being world champion.
As an aside, I hate, HATE, the 'I WANT TO WATCH THE WORLD BURN' mentality some fans seem to have. It's counter productive and snobbish as hell.

I hate how far too many people have taken the stance of "I want things to be as bad as possible because hahaha lol" in almost every arena of life. It's f***ing obnoxious and one of the biggest problems I see in our society today. Irony sucks. So in other words, no thanks. I'm not against the idea of someone in Jinder's position on the card being skyrocketed to the top because it could be cool and interesting. For example, NJPW did it with Okada and it has worked out wonderfully. My issue is that it's Jinder. Lousy wrestler, lousy on the mic, and while he used to have a pretty good look now he's plain uncomfortable to look at because it's like he looked at Chael Sonnen and thought "I bet I could be on more shit than him." I'm always worried he'll f***ing explode if he takes a bump.
Hey, maybe he could actually put it all together and surprise the hell out of me. I'd love for that to happen. But right now, with what I've seen of the guy, he hasn't once impressed me in the ring or cut a promo that made me think "Damn, this Jinder Mahal could be something."

Damn, I didn't know being amused by a Jinder title shot made me part of ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS IN SOCIETY. That's pretty hardcore. Soon I'm going to get kicked out of stores and I'll have to hang out in underground clubs you can only enter by saying the password "I come in peace".
Then I can associate with other like minded individuals in smoky rooms while people snort exotic drugs off Jinder Mahal WWE posters.

There are four threads on the front page right now about Jinder. I'd say that whatever WWE's thinking, it's got people talking.

It can't be worse than putting the title on Khali who was practically a statue.

Mahal being a contender is great, winning the title without a MITB crutch is a bit much.

You know, at first, I was like, "No. I don't want to see Jinder Mahal as the WWE Champion."
And then, the more I thought about it, I was like, "Eh, why not? Can't be any worse than having Orton as Champion. Hell, the Universal Champion doesn't even show up on RAW."
Seriously, who thought giving BROCK LESNAR the title was a good idea?
Oh right....

I think Jinder Mahal could have been a decent contender with more buildup. I don't like that he's suddenly gone from jobber to #1 contender with one match.
I would have much rather seen Luke Harper win. His last match with Orton was really good. I would have liked another match like that for the title.
I even think having Mojo Rawley win would have been better. Turn Orton heel, and see if Rawley can work as one of the top faces. Orton has always been a better heel anyway. Plus it would finally make the Andre Battle Royal mean something.

They are giving Orton a feed before he loses to Nakamura. Everyone needs to calm their tits, Jinder will not be champion.
And I do not want him to be. The evil foreigner has been played out to death.

Does association with "The World's Most Obnoxious Man" Rob Gronkowski hurt his face credibility? It does with me.

I have a hard time seeing Jinder as anything but a busywork feud for Orton because they don't have a plan for him, he won't get the belt and will lay down for the three count and never get a sniff of a title again.
